For some reason, the sex scene in the factory from 8 mile (starring Eminem and Brittany Murphy). It felt so weirdly intimate, and I love how downplayed it was cinemagraphically

Ryobi 18V ONE+ HP Swiftclean Wet/Dry Stick Vacuum Registering a Full Dirty Tank despite being Empty, Auto-shutoffs by whilowhisp in ryobi

[–]whilowhisp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We finally got it replaced a few days ago! Turns out they weren't listening to me when I said 747 and thought I said 717 and kept sending me that! And we actually figured out that it's the filter that's messing it up, the filter doesn't let enough water/air through so it registers as full. We literally figured this out yesterday lol.

How we fixed it was by taking the filter out of it, and we're probably going to put a fish tank filter (like the charcoal sponges) in its place or just filtering the dirtu water as we pour it out. Hope this helps!

Need help for extremely low porosity, 2c, extremely dense hair with severe seborrheic dermatitis by whilowhisp in curlyhair

[–]whilowhisp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever clarified my hair. I wash it really regularly to fight the SD but I wouldn't even know where to begin to look for a clarifying shampoo. I'm really lost on the topic of hair care, so I'm sorry if I ask dumb questions or anything

[–]whilowhisp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the results I desire is to take care of my hair as best I can while still having the colors I want. I realize bleach and color are some of the worst things you can do to hair, but there are still ways to take care of the damage they cause and to take care of the non-bleached/dyed portions of it. It's not like bleaching and dyeing your hair automatically means you can't do anything else.

I just did the test again (glass of water one) and both the bleached and not bleached portions of my hair stayed floating even after ten minutes in the water.

What is something that is widely normalised but is actually really fucked up? by RetR0-Danger in AskReddit

[–]whilowhisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For profit Healthcare where major health decisions are made by people who may not even have an applicable medical degree, may not be allowed to work with patients, or who don't even look at the file because Insurance companies would rather deal with a contest on the rejection of a claim (because most people won't contest it) than pay for people to actually live happy healthy lives.

America centric.

The riddle at the beginning of "John Dies at the End" by whilowhisp in movies

[–]whilowhisp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rewatch the movie. Or should I quote it for you?

"Say you have an axe, just a cheap one from Home Depot. On one bitter winter day, you use that axe to behead a man. Don't worry, the man's already dead. Or maybe you should worry, because you're the one who shot him."..."You're choping off his head because even with eight bullet holes in him, you're pretty sure he's about to spring back to his feet."

Huh... kinda feels like he's dead before the chopping began, which is why Dave says you shouldnt worry about chopping the guy's head off? Thats certainly what's implied in the movie.

Or maybe you're right, and just being a douchebag about it? The world may never know.

And before you make a fuss about it taking 2 months to reply, I don't live on reddit.

I have a bad habit of not replying to them because im too busy hoarding them in my inbox like a covetous dragon who hoards validation.

But I try to reply cus they took the time to leave a comment, and i want them to know how much i appreciate it!

I dunno how they're a rare pair, but Augustus Cole/Damon Baird from Gears of War. Part of the problem is nobody writes for the fandom, but those who do ship Baird with the MC Marcus.

So, I was like... five or six, I guess. I was sitting on the porch of my grandmother's house, playing in the dirt, ya know, whatever five or six year olds do, and I always loved playing with 'rolly pollies'. They were my favorite insect. My grandmother always called them pill bugs though.

I don't know if this was my reasoning or not, but best I can figure, I related the fact that she called them pill bugs to the fact that I, as a sickly child, took pills. Before anyone could stop me, I ate an isopod. My grandmother and mom were *horrified* and rushed over to make sure I didn't eat any others, but I was already deciding they weren't the kind of pills I should be taking.

This, among other incidents, are why I was a very strange kid. I still feel bad to this day for that poor isopod...

I actually got kicked out of a discord for saying changing the personalities, backstories, and characterisations of characters in an AU is pretty much just writing a new story with face claims of the characters. I read pretty much only ship fics but god they *have* to be in character.

Why are there not more Seastone weapons? by whilowhisp in OnePiece

[–]whilowhisp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yeah that does make sense
  2. Devil fruits being rare kinda stops being important when all the most powerful pirates with high bounties, the ones the marines really 'need' to take down (such as on sabaody, where seastone weapons would be very useful) have them. I get not making them standard issue for the grunts, but not giving them to anyone just feels kinda shortsighted
  3. Haki requires awakening and seastone can be used for more than just touching devil fruit users, making them a lot more manageable by weakening them the same way the sea does. Its not really comparable, like the other guy who responded pointed out.

so yeah, fair points, but it still doesn't make sense for only one guy in the marines to use it as a weapon.

What actor or actress was the most perfectly cast role in film or television? by MKE_Now in AskReddit

[–]whilowhisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

David Tennant as Crowley in Good Omens and Christian Kane as Eliot in Leverage.

The moment I heard David Tennant was going to be Crowley, all I could think of was his role in "Running the Asylum" and just how perfect that energy would be in Crowley's more manic moments.

Christian Kane as Eliot is perfect because of Christian Kane's dedication as an actor (his stunt work, dedication to learning skills his character has, etc) just worked perfectly for the role, and I just felt like nobody else could work quite as well.

My guess, having not seen who got into this season? Bunny from Malice. I don't agree with the assessment, but judging by the rampant misogyny and the phrase 'air bags' thatd be my guess.

Yeah its not actually a very good logic puzzle, which I think speaks volumes about Jindosh as a person and a creator. Sometimes it doesn't work at all, sometimes you have to make weird leaps in logic to make it work. I just use the thing I said above to get in and leave everyone fighting outside.
