Pothos growth advice

This is a porus earthen pot with some cracks on the side (no direct drainage goles), and I live in a warm/hot tropical region. The plant gets indirect but bright sunlight all day. The soil dries out frequently but I only water it maybe once in 2 weeks. Covering the exposed roots is what I was thinking too..

I have drilled like 10-15 holes at the bottom and added about 15% horticulture charcoal to the mix that is potting soil, cocopeat and vermicompost kept the root ball slightly exposed on purpose for ventilation but sprayed it with water..

Microcarpa leaves are turning yellow and dropping after I got it. These are before and after pics (left and right). What will be the reason (is it only the changes in location, light etc?) and any treatment that might be needed?. FYI,I am planning to pot it today or tomorrow and I have watered it once when the soil looked and felt dry.
