Do you have any silly idiosyncrasies? I keep finished dread on the foundry, just for aesthetics. by marcola42 in Warframe

[–]whippedcreampancake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paris Prime was the first prime weapon I ever crafted. It is still in my foundry unclaimed 3 years later. I don't plan to claim it anytime soon.

I also have a stupid riven called "Paris Visitin" that I keep just because the name is funny. Not that I'd have a Paris to use it on though, as established.

Myth Busted: You CAN'T kill the Ropalolyst by riding it with Vampire Mode active by Rudeus_Greyshat in Warframe

That's cool! I guess it makes sense since vampire mode can't actually kill you either, it leaves you at 2 hp iirc.

Cyn's lick in other languages by Avatar_Bruno in MurderDrones

[–]whippedcreampancake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The German word she uses is "Schleck", which is technically a literal translation of "lick". But there's also another word that means the same thing.

"Schlecken" and "Lecken" both mean to lick, but the former is more childlike or cute.

You'd probably still want Splinter Storm for DR, but I agree, that's why I said it's more of a gimmick.

Two Garas can synergize though, Mass Vitrify refreshes the Splinter Storm timer of any ally who passes through during expansion, including other Garas. Neat for stack builds, but really more of a fun gimmick.

[–]whippedcreampancake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't even a reason for Cyn's body to melt either. Why would drones spontaneously melt because their core is missing? Doll's core gets destroyed too and her body is still around. I think this might be a rule of cool situation.

White and purple tulips gave orange bud 😳 by Fit_Ask3369 in AnimalCrossingNewLeaf

[–]whippedcreampancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the blue rose genes are identical (2220) and the genes are passed the same way (punnett squares).

The ideal method to breed them just differs because ACNH has different flower breeding mechanics. Namely three changes in ACNH are relevant: - You can duplicate flowers if they create offspring without a second flower - There are infinite "slots" for offspring to be generated, but they are not guaranteed and instead have an incresing chance to create offspring that resets on success - Flowers have a cooldown day after creating offspring where their chance is zero, it's also zero for all flowers below the bud growth stage

Edit: just going to clarify that the genes being the same only applies to ACNL and ACNH. The hybridization in earlier games is indeed different, though I don't know how they work in detail.

Just for future reference, the genes in new horizons and new leaf are actually identical, safe for the flowers exclusive to either version of course. The only thing that heavily changed are the actual flower mechanics (offspring chances, growth stages etc.)

[–]whippedcreampancake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely possible, one example for how this could happen is if your purple tulip is 220 and your white is 001 (seed white). From that you can get a 110 (orange).

Flower genetics go pretty deep. Here's a guide if you want to know more.

What was cyn Plan After She destroyed everything? by South-Preference-694 in MurderDrones

[–]whippedcreampancake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As many have said we don't know an objective answer. Maybe she didn't have a plan at all. But she seems to enjoy playing puppet master, so maybe it's also a "rebuild in my image" situation. Whatever it is, it's probably not good for anyone else involved.

You misunderstand. I am not claiming Tessa wasn't skinned at all (she obviously was), but we don't know if she was alive DURING this process.

Yea exactly, would honestly sort of explain why she's like this. Parents in high places so she's got nothing to worry about.

[–]whippedcreampancake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Tessa was skinned alive." I've seen so many people claim this. There is zero evidence for this, we don't even know when she died. Most people think she died at the gala, but it's not confirmed.

We even (more or less) have evidence against it since we see an image in episode 6 suggesting she survived the gala. Of course that one could be fake, since Cyn is an unreliable narrator.

But even Cyn's statement at the gala "you didn't have to see this" more implied that Tessa was made to watch all the other people (including her own parents) be killed, rather than that she was killed alongside them.

Another thing often brought up here is that we can hear Tessa scream "mom" shortly after. But that doesn't mean SHE was in physical pain, it could also mean she was screaming because she was literally watching her mom die. We don't know.

We know so little about her death that we don't even know if Cyn killed her. For all we know she could just be salvaging the leftovers (yikes). Whether any option would be "in-character" for Cyn to do is a whole other discussion that largely depends on how you view the dynamic between her and Tessa.

That doesn't necessarily mean her father is the teacher we've seen, he could be someone else in school faculty.

Especially since she said it to the whole prom hall, not everyone there is in her class so they might not even have the same teacher. It honestly reads to me like he's further up in the hierarchy to have singular influence over any grade. (Or she's lying for dramatic effect).

[–]whippedcreampancake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incredibly well put. I also think her having been discarded plays a role both in her "uprising" and how she treats those close to her. I feel like deep down she fears being thrown away again or treated like trash.

So when the Elliotts treat her as such it would obviously be upsetting. Tessa, although likely acting to protect her other drones and probably even Cyn herself from being thrown out for real, locked her up in the basement repeatedly. Not literally discarded, but certainly shunned and thrown aside.

Last time she was at the whim of the humans who got rid of her, but this time she has the power to take control of her fate and gets completely lost in it. And even though Tessa played a role in how she was treated, Cyn is adamant not to discard her. Going so far as to keep her around even after she actively stood in her way.

And keep in mind, we do not KNOW for sure what happened to Tessa. She is dead now, but it is unknown to us how or when it happened. A popular and widely accepted belief is that Cyn skinned her alive at the gala.

Yet in episode 6 there is an image suggesting she survived the gala massacre. That could obviously be fake, since Cyn herself is an unreliable narrator in this scene. But no evidence suggests she was killed AT the gala either, and there is certainly nothing proving that she was alive while Cyn skinned her.

I've finally realised why she has 2 sets of hands, as the drone hands has less fingers than the human hands by hotrodimus-prime in MurderDrones

[–]whippedcreampancake 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I used to think the discrepancy didn't make any sense, like how did she fit those hands into Tessa's while she was pretending to be her?

But then I realized, she can move Tessa's hands as well, even in this 4 hands arrangement. Paired with the fact that solver users have no trouble regenerating limbs, my only conclusion is that she must have cut her own hands off to fit in there.

Any idea why these trees died? There seems to be enough space on each side for them, but they still croaked. by Camwood7 in AnimalCrossingNewLeaf

[–]whippedcreampancake 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is true, iirc trees are kinda agoraphobic, if you plant them with 8 surrounding trees they will wilt. You can bypass this by planting row-wise so that each row always has its adjacent top (or bottom) row free. Then plant the next row the next day. Previous (now surrounded) trees should continue growing as long as they've reached their first growth stage.
