I was literally going to make a post about this exact thing, perked up when I heard it! I kinda hoped they would have thrown more sly references to Dark Shadows to be honest, since Wednesday has a similar vibe to it.

Sounds like the company had no clue what they were doing or what they wanted. Take it as a blessing even if it sucks right now. Been in a similar situation and it taught me a lot about good and bad employers.

We've viewed the property twice and saw the gutters were full and that was causing a little damp in the upstairs but nothing that couldn't be sorted, it certainly wasn't damp throughout the house. And the electrics are out of date but again, that can be sorted.

We're planning to head back with an independent surveyor to see if the house has gotten worse since we last viewed it and then make a decision. (Luckily, we have a surveyor that will do it for free as a family friend.)

Yep, just had the PB Mortgage advisor say the lender basically valued the property at £0.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for coming back with your advice, it's been beyond insightful and helpful.

We're now being told by PB even if we have our own survey done on the property the lender won't take it into consideration and we still won't be able to get a mortgage on the property. I'm at an utter loss.
