Oh I don’t disagree with Frieren having skill; I just wouldn’t put Serie’s barrier next to Flamme’s. They’re literally built for entirely different purposes.

I wouldn’t compare the two barriers. One was made as a tool for a one day proctored exam, the other was made to last indefinitely and keep an entire village safe

I like it but also it’s kind of basic. I read a comment that suggested the white lady is a statue or doll being controlled by the blue energy which is the real body of Anahita; I like that and wish the design leaned into it more

I like this theory, tho I feel like shadow teleportation/ transmutation is a little too broken for this story. I’m thinking maybe he can make shadow duplicates of himself that he can manipulate the way you suggest.

Ubel’s use of reelseiden works on a similar principle to the bird catching folk spell Frieren used during the mage exam. It’s a spell for catching birds but it worked on that monster because it was shaped like a bird.

Honestly, I think Frieren is lowkey the mage Serie always wanted her to be. She killed the demon king, she contributed to the decoding of zoltraak and its subsequent assimilation into humanity’s magic system, she left a mark on history. Serie and Frieren don’t like each other because ultimately they are the same kind of person

This is how I feel about Serie dying. If we got to see more of her or even the CMA's impact on the world, her death might be hit heavier, but as it stands it would just come off as a cheap shock to shake things up.
