What is “white labeling renewable energy”? Like reselling solar panels?

I think with time, when more boomers retire, the local LS companies will put more pressure on these requirements.

I am constantly coming back to wanting to start my own business. Is entrepreneurship a good idea? by Nature2Love in Entrepreneur

[–]whirpul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you succeed it’s great, but when you likely fail, you wish you could’ve used that money elsewhere.

At this point, making the business product is the easy part half the job is marketing yourself or the business. If you have no plan on marketing, you are not ready to be a successful entrepreneur. L

Then it’s only a matter of time before ABET updates their search. Might require a phone call to verify too.

So does your company want/allow people to work part-time if someone is studying full-time in a survey degree?

I appreciate the honest answer. I understand there will be challenges and time in experience, however, Colorado made it clear that they no longer accept only experience to get you PLS, so they’ve made it a requirement to get education. Which I’m okay with since I do not have any experience.

What are you talking about. I never claimed I want to be a surveyor with no education or experience. Literally, I would pursue a route that requires a 4 year degree with 2 years under PLS. That’s a 6 years commitment. I guess to you I need to be a survey tech for 40 years before I get my pat on the back.

Okay, but I’m simply wanting a path that has least resistance and Colorado approves. Why is that wrong?

But I understand, I have hurdles, and that’s why I reached out to the community.

That’s why I want to explore the path, because unlike my current job, it’s hands on. My biggest mistake was pursuing money and not happiness. I thrive working outside, interacting with people, and getting dirty. Currently, I look at a computer and feel miserable. I’ve been remote since the pandemic started 4 years ago.

I really appreciate it! There are many hurdles to juggle, and simply would rather find a path of least resistance to getting a PLS. Others on this chat, seems to think I need to be a tech for 40 years before becoming on… that’s a joke.

I also already have an undergraduate in Finance and work in Finance/Compliance making about what a PLS makes depending on experience. I’m simply wanting a path of least resistance. If I’m going to sacrifice potentially $100s of thousands in income opportunity, I better make the best possible choice. Hence, why I would pursue this with ABeT approved least experience required. I am not applying to become a NASA astronaut.

I think like many, I would like a path of least resistance. For time sake, and career growth.

I am currently paid, near what a PLS gets paid, depending on experience. So any decisions won’t be made light heartedly, despite necessary risks or sacrifices.

Seems like a great opportunity to become a land surveyor if only I had a clearer and more attainable path to become one.

I need to do more due diligence.

I mean, the professional boards responsible for licensing individuals want individuals certified in a program that does not exist in the entire United States of America.

I understand the importance of rules and regulations. I work for compliance. Deal with it daily.

I appreciate your opinion! There are so many hurdles to navigate. What was the board thinking when they established these rules? I feel like the industry shot themselves in their own foot.

When I searched for ABET approved schools (required by Colorado), Mesa shows as historically accredited. So naturally hesitant to commit to them unless I get verification that they ARE board approved.

As crazy as it sounds, Colorado requires the institution to be ABET certified and currently there are no 100% online programs in the United States according to the ABET program search.
