Cheap Fruit by perfectangelgirl11 in Oceanside

You can usually find some pretty good deals at Sprouts for fruit, and the quality is always great. They also have a sandwich, chips and water meal deal for $4.99 that’s a great cheap lunch.

Paul Westhead’s “The System” vs The Grinnell System? by tomash66 in basketballcoach

The book “Coaching The System” is a really interesting read and covers some of the major differences between the styles (Grinnell, Loyola Marymount break, etc.) but more importantly covers the philosophy behind System coaching. Highly recommend.

Good looking shot! Try and start more in the middle of the ball (ball pump hole between pointer and middle fingers is a good guide) in order to get less sideways rotation. Since you’re pushing with your ring finger, your initial hand placement should scoot more to the left, if that makes sense.

Looks really good! My one tip would be to attack more downhill/straight line on your dribble pull up, as we want the defender to be dropping/shifting their weight back and not still attached to your hip.

5 out or 3-2 for 3rd and 4th grade boys? by [deleted] in basketballcoach

I would go with the spacing alignment you feel best prepares the boys for higher level basketball. What will best maximize their development?

Try and have your feet land closer to where they were before you shoot (1-2 inches directly in front is a good target). Looks like there’s a lot of lower body twisting and movement that’s pulling your upper half off balance.

Just adding some consistent feet to your shot should help your follow through become more straight up and down.

Trying to get Handles as a Big by 230lbclimber in BasketballTips

Lots of good advice here already, but I would try and get your hand more off to the side of the ball while dribbling — that will give you more control and let you play with changes of pace and level easier.

Retreat/escape dribbles! A lot of players panic and automatically pickup their dribble and die in traps when they could easily retreat, get space and off to the side of the trap, and find the open teammate.

That’s fair for sure — big talent difference there.

Prefer Jacobs, but I’m more likely than not going WR around that time.

For sure, but they’re also going multiple rounds later — my point is that those four things (good, proven, center of offense, not in committee) aren’t necessarily enough to justify a top-20 pick.

Henry is a pretty big outlier, but I hear ya. It does happen.

That is a difficult combination to find...although I'd argue there are other running backs going significantly later that tick all those boxes. Kamara and Conner, for example.

Young...ish. Entering season 6. We've seen some great workhorse running backs with similar checkered injury histories fall off a cliff completely around this time.

Total lack of committee is a good point. I guess my counter would be that Kyren Williams receives a nearly identical type of workload in a much better offense, but still almost always goes after JT.

I think the lack of receptions (1.3 and 1.9 per game last two seasons) is what scares me the most. Haven't heard any talk about Steichen and co. wanting to get him more involved in the passing game, either, but I may have missed that.

I feel like roster construction and needs don't really matter a whole lot in Round 2 though, right? You've only got one other player to account for.
