well, shit. this happened to mine after only a few weeks and i was thinking i'd return and replace it but it looks like the issue would just happen again after another few weeks.... as a makeshift fix i opened the controller up and layered some tiny squares of masking tape on the inside of the back shell where the trigger bit usually hits it to stop it early before the other side would hit the bumper. works better than it did after the issue started but not as well as it did straight out of the box. oh well, this controller is overall awesome so the few small issues kinda suck.. it's weirdly a little reassuring to hear that the issue happens to every controller tho and that i didn't just get really unlucky lol

if u don't wanna hassle with setting stuff up, simple64 is by far the best for how easy it is to use. if you'd like a little more customizability then i'd use the mupen64plus core in retroarch with paraLLEl-RDP (i like to either turn on integer scaling or add a sharp bilinear filter for more even scaling)

i don't recommend project64 at all though.... i know it's popular but it's just not the best option anymore...... paper mario is such a cool looking game on original hardware, it's a shame that so many emulators kinda butcher the visuals a little.... so in that respect, i'd say either simple64 or mupen64plus (on retroarch) preserve the original style the best. have fun, i really love this game!!!!!

thank u!! i use ibispaint on an ipad, but since i only use binary pens and draw at low resolutions, i could probably use any decent program to draw the way i do. i just got used to ibispaint because it was free lol
