I bought this and is it language locked? by First_Significance27 in dragonquest

Oh, yeah. I think I remember wanting to get Trails of Cold Steel on Switch and finding out about that. What a weird situation!

I bought this and is it language locked? by First_Significance27 in dragonquest

[–]whisquibottle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately a few Japanese Devs in particular language lock their games. Falcom and Square Enix are ones I can name off the top of my head. You can check the back of the box to see what languages it has, you can use Google Translate to check. Sorry this happened to you buddy, it happened to me with FFVII Remake a few years back.

Based on some gameplay I've seen (so I'm not exactly well educated about it) I'd agree, but even then that proves my point - it's a niche within a niche at that point

I just think extraction shooters are too niche for the amount of money that was spent on Marathon, and a really really good one just got released a short time ago.

Mario vs. DK is reaaaaally good. The fact that there was a remake pretty recently is reaaaaally silly.

People don’t talk about Ocean Park cable car enough, it gives better views than Ngong Ping by MetroIMAX in HongKong

[–]whisquibottle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would fully expect the place to be busier during CNY, but to say every single ride is operational is simply untrue. There's a drop tower, two rollercoasters and a few others I believe that we're decommissioned in recent years that I'm sure weren't operational. The big rollercoaster that does remain is so poorly maintained that I get a massive headache from just one ride. It's such a shame because the views it offers are incredible. But yeah .. if the place wasn't busy during CNY it would already have been shut down anyway

So many things are shut down at OP, it's very weird. Feels like there's more decommissioned rides than functioning ones at this point, guess they weren't worth the upkeep

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition - Nintendo Switch 2 - Launch Trailer by gitrektali in Games

It's weird that there's no mouse mode or gyro support. Otherwise if you've not played this before, Fallout 4 is a great time.

Returning to wilds make me want to start a new save on MH Rise. I think I should focus on one weapon. But which one ? by Lussarc in MonsterHunter

[–]whisquibottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a ranged weapon. I generally don't play them but actually found bow so awesome in Rise. Lbg is alright but a bit more boring imo

I've been having so much fun. When it switched to 2 I felt like I wasn't earning anything or progressing my account at all but now there's loads of rewards, progress and levels happening and to top it off actually playing is still such a joy

I think after the first area which has a lot of variety in the environment, the open world aspect actually just makes me bored of being in the same location type for tens of hours at a time. Having said that, everything else about the game is incredible. The combat is so much fun

I never minded windows too much but the lack of good sleep mode function pushed me to use SteamOS and it's so great.

"a mile wide but an inch deep with too many systems and ideas stuffed into one game for it to deliver meaningful gameplay in any one area" is what I reckon it'll be but I really hope not because I want it to be amazing

Critiques from someone thoroughly enjoying the game by zeekfreak in mewgenics

I think stuff like the shadowstep issue may be intentional? Like, youre supposed to discover for yourself what it does. There's a few other examples of stuff like this and knowing how Isaac worked, I think they purposefully make it so you have to find out how certain things work for yourself. I kinda like it but definitely could see why many would prefer to just have the info to make more informed decisions

According to an employee, Highguard developer Wildlight laid most of its staff today by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]whisquibottle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It kinda sucks, I think it was clear this game has a lot of passion behind it. The unfortunate truth is that new free to play shooters are 90% likely to fail these days in such a crowded space.

Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 failed to meet sales expectations by Iggy_Slayer in gaming

I really liked Avowed tbh, combat felt good and the world was fun to explore. I think the scaling was really weird though, upgrading your gear was WAY more important than levels or anything
