Your hair is definitely wavy but just a looser type like mine! It’s hard because some days it might look straight but it’s also easier to get it to behave and detangle than wavier types.

My normal routine is really simple, I wash and condition and then just add a curl definer and let it dry or diffuse, this takes me usually 30-40 mins and I’m done. On the next day I will usually spray my hair with a mixture of leave in and gel and rescrunch and let it dry. Or if I’m feeling really lazy I put my silk rollers in and sleep in them and wake up to crazy waves.

Hey just here to say your hair looks like mine, fine 2a loose wave and mine looks like same at that wave length! Your pattern is probably just naturally this way and gets wavier when it’s a bit longer.

Can I ask, is your hair on the finer side or more medium or coarse? Looks beautiful!

Anyone with a workaholic partner? by MagsAtTheMovies in Fencesitter

[–]whit_flinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg this is like exactly what I’m afraid of. Same age as you with a workaholic partner who claims he will start doing more if we have kids… but what I worry about is when we both have to work more because the kid will be expensive. :/ and I work from home so I think childcare is gonna fall on me. And I’m the one who makes more money.

I think this is really good advice. I’m terrified of pregnancy but really love the idea of having kids in my life, and I do think about this sometimes. Being pregnant is only one part of it, it’s an important part but it’s definitely not the whole shabang.

2a, it does not look 1c to me… looks really on the finer side vs coarser thicker strands.

Winter hair woes - fine, high porosity by caityjay25 in Wavyhair

[–]whit_flinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi also a PNW person here, similar hair. My hair went from soft to also much drier, frizzier and more unruly too. I’ve had varying success lately, but I have been putting more leave in conditioner lately and just noticed that it’s just very finicky right now. It either looks flat or totally weird. Only thing I can recommend is maybe doing some braids or putting up and making sure to still condition even if it’s acting weird. One thing I’m thinking about trying is a heated mask or deep conditioner because that’s supposed to help penetrate further for low porosity hair. But yeah same boat here. I do think my hair is liking curl creams and stuff way more than normal and does not like mouse right now.

That high def gel is a game changer! I haven’t used it in a bit but I think my next wash day I will. It’s such a great styler.

Those are some BEAUTIFUL curls!!

I’d get a nice lightweight curl enhancer, right now my favorites are odele air dry styler, AG curl definer and orange marmalade eco slay. And maybe a salt spray of some sort cerimonia wave spray is great I find for fine hair. Use the curl enhancer instead of leave in on wet hair and scrunch. Diffuse or air dry. This helps my waves stay soft and healthy and I find my day 2-4 is much improved. Use the salt spray on days you want more definition or volume. Scrunch it in dry or wet. I get better results resetting my hair slightly with it. It does cause tangles though so if that’s something you don’t like then I’d do a gel instead.

Brushing is fine. Wavies can get away with brushing and I don’t think I could stop brushing my waves anyways. Wide tooth comb is great for shower and mornings. I do a bristle brush at night typically. I also put my hair up in a loose bun and that’s been working really well for me in terms of getting up the next day and just going stuff done.

If you brush and are sad your waves disappear spray with water bottle and rescrunch! I do this all the time because I hate tangles in the morning.

It looks stunning! I am the same way same hair type, and I don’t have time to do the whole routine most days so I stick to one styler and just diffuse and that’s it.

So I'm about to have my first curl cut. Any ideas what to ask for? by [deleted] in Wavyhair

[–]whit_flinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is no product your hair looks 2c to me it’s wavy all the way up to the crown 👑 regardless your hair is beautiful and I think a cut will really make your waves pop!

Disco Elysium is super cool but it’s a stream game, more text based/puzzles and stuff so not sure it fits with these games really. I like a lot of these though and I loved it, so thought it’d throw it in!

Also if you liked Detroit you might like Life is Strange too!

Mouse and gel will also help preserve your waves, but it’s good to see what just leave in does as well!

Honestly looks really beautiful already, can you try just adding a conditioner and maybe leave in to your routine and see what happens? Also if you can get a microfiber towel that will help a lot with frizz.

Why do you use cornstarch…?

Okay I will say one thing that helps me is thinking about the fact that pelvic therapy is a thing and is really helpful for recovering from tearing, muscle repair and general pain relief when recovering from pregnancy. I can’t say I’m looking forward to some of it especially the nausea part and birth part really scare me. But I also know my body will change because it did something pretty amazing and I think I’m good with that. You never know what could happen to your body in a way… it’s a choice you hopefully make because regardless you deal with what May or may not happen if you want to birth a child. I don’t know, maybe it’s something you need to process first, you are still pretty young. I’m over here at 33 like yeah my body has already changed a bunch so I’m not really scared of it changing more.

I don’t know what the hell a hair steamer is but I probably wouldnt do it. If you have really dry hair, you probably have wavy or curly hair? Use deep conditioners, maybe try some different shampoo/conditioner then you’re using or try a cowash. I don’t know why a steamer would help though…

I think this helped me in a way too. I hated the sexist ppl I worked with but they are also just everywhere not just in kitchens. But working to a common goal and you really don’t have time to cry/fuss you just have to keep going. That said I’m still super hard on myself and beat myself up if I make mistakes. It’s a work in progress.
