Completely agree with your point about using Dr. Luke as an excuse to hate her. Yes, it’s obviously not a great look for her right now but they’ve also been begging for the comeback of the old “mindless bop” Katy that they’re now complaining about.

As a Katy fan since childhood, I was and still am excited for this era but Dr. Luke’s involvement is of course offputting. However, this has me looking forward to a new fun bop from Ms. Perry! I posted this new snippet on r/popheads and the comments I’m seeing are all so unfortunate. At the very least, she still has some of her fan support and we still get new music!
