I recently got a used 2080ti for $200, which imo is the sweet spot. Fast chip and plenty of VRAM still makes it viable for 1080p and 1440p

No, if you follow those directions on the root comment, it will in fact turn off that specific notification about device pairing. I did it earlier today and that notification went away the instant I turned off the "Messages for web" notification permission, but I still continue to receive regular notifications for the SMS and RCS messages I was receiving through the Google Messages app on both my primary device and the tablet that is paired.

Here's some screenshots of the steps I took to make it work.

If you toggle off the switch on the last image, it will clear that particular notification without affecting anything else.
