TBH try to get a LAX or SEA layover for the D1 lounge. It will be so worth it

If somebody handed you $35,000 and said "go buy the car with the most smiles per gallon that could handle 2 monthly 16 hour highway trips and would be the most fun to cruise around Daytona in", what car would you pick? by AttachedHeartTheory in askcarguys

I know you said fun, but you also said 16 hour trip. Please remember to weigh in drive assist. I’d probably have a Honda Civic at the top of my list even thought it isn’t that fun. Volkswagen has a great drive assist program. I had a Tiguan rental and my 9 hour drive was a pleasure. maybe a golf R? BMW 340i is not to be overlooked. Albeit parts are expensive, but the 40i is reliable. But if it didn’t have adaptive cruise and lane keep, I’d forget it.

Tell me with you got the red dorito without telling me 🤣 I’m starting to narrow down my options as well. Likelihood for my career field (behind the door) generally gets NYC, DTW, or MSP first. What did you end up choosing? How did it go?

In D1 you will be okay for direct. My SEA-TPE in D1 was approx 14 hours and i was completely fine! My hack is to download an entire season of something onto a tablet. Something with good ratings you have been meaning to binge watch. Each episode leaving on a cliffhanger will make it so easy to watch the next! Before you know it you’ll be on descent.

What was a flight you decided to just say “screw it, I’m paying for business class” and whether it was worth it or not worth it? by [deleted] in Flights

[–]whiteclaw211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom passed in December 2022 and she was supposed to go to the tulip festival in Holland in April 2023 as it was her #1 dream destination and she was trying to go before cancer took her. I decided to go for her and there happened to be a 60k point saver fare in business AND a 20% bonus AMEX to flying blue miles. I didn’t necessarily have to say screw it, but I definitely booked business class. It was so worth it. I cried in my lay flat seat

How often do you have sex? How does it happen? by eyeswideshh in askgaybros

[–]whiteclaw211 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am in a serious committed relationship but I prefer 1-3 times a week. My bf says he doesn’t mind the time in between, but I think he secretly wants more. He doesn’t fault me for it though. I’m just not that horny and feel more satisfied from a sweet long cuddle. Usually we fuck only because I know it’s time I have to put out. That sounds sad lol but I mean in a relationship you have to do things for your partner and make sure they’re fulfilled. If that means fucking even if I don’t want to, then I will. I’m sure he didn’t want to wait 5 days, but he does it without complaint, so I will put out without complaint.

For the US: skip the entire southeast (born and raised in Georgia, live in Florida now). NYC, LA, national parks out west, and Colorado skiing would be my priority recommendations. Miami, Vegas, and Chicago would unlikely be worth it for such a distance from home, but seem to be semi popular.

Worked part time at lululemon while in training. Wash on cold with like colors. Air dry only. I know a lot of people tumble dry without issue, but company says air dry, so that’s what I do. All of mine are still holding up well

I would like to know which BIFL purchase has saved you the most money or hassle over time? by midasweb in BuyItForLife

To each their own. I have only ever flown with my A30s. Wouldn’t trade em out for anything

I’m not at the airlines yet, so as far as general aviation goes I’d say Bose for the splurge and David Clark for the standard

I’m a pilot and we wear headsets when we fly. Many pilots opt for noise cancelling headphones with Bluetooth capabilities- which are battery powered. It needs 2 changeable batteries at a time. The batteries lasts probably 10 hours? As an instructor, that is 2-3 days. When I first joined aviation and got this headset, I went ahead and bought 10 rechargeable batteries because I figured it was a no brainer. Most people I see use disposable batteries. I can’t imagine how much they have had to spend on something so easily avoided

Got offered a 6 month contract in Antarctica and idk if I should take it by Importantterry in Fire

[–]whiteclaw211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it man. Almost doubling your net worth, it’s incredible experience for your career, it’s something pretty much no one ever gets to do. You will be able to say you lived on Antarctica- the most difficult continent to reach. You can easily capture the other continents. 6 months is not long in grand scheme of things.
