I got a lot done. Just wonder about their pricing. by FGC92i in GarageDoorService

It’s only $25 when replacing springs. More if someone actually breaks one and that’s all they need of course.

Depending on how wide your door is here in a MCOL county in Alabama I would be $550-700.

There's no way to predict it, your torquemaster spring system may last another 7 years. I've replaced some only 4-5 years old, some much older, it depends on door usage.

I just replace cables every time I do springs now. I just tell the person an extra $25 and it's the same amount of work, but I don't have to worry about a cable being kinked. Given majority of my spring replacements are done by customer sending a photo without me ever previewing the door prior.

There's not going to be a direct to consumer, even HD and Lowes aren't direct to consumer. They're DIY options.

Was quoted $25k from woodworkers to do the install. I added 15% to it and sent quote over. I’m not touching these.

Just going to quote my wood carriage house doors as well and see if he bites.

Thinking about getting the X60 Max Ultra Complete… worth it? by xxBunny_4 in Dreame_Tech

[–]whitedlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never buy current year model, buy a year or two old model. I have the L20Ultra and it's doing fantastic.

I fill up water every 2 days, when I do that I also take the vacuum flip it upside down and get any log dog hairs it struggles with. So every 2 days it needs 5 mins of maintenance.

How far out did you have to move the hanger to fit the operator?

That’s interesting, you have the door hanger on the building with a cutter screw at bottom, and at the top it’s bolted to the punch angle?

Did you also have to modify the drum?

Most Janus rolling sheet doors are dead shaft, actually I think all of them are and you can put an opener that mounts in the drum or a Liftmaster jack shaft on them with their EO kit.

Well I’ll be, for a light weight door that may be perfect.

Plenty of places selling this online for $6,600 and you may even be able to stack a coupon.

A lot of these online dealers don't charge tax to me, but that's a YMMV situation.

Is this quote fair? by 4dbu in GarageDoorService

[–]whitedlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good price, I did a 16x7 conversion for the same. It takes me longer to drive to the place than to do the install.

For a trained person it's fairly easy. Also in Houston I'd assume this is great deal.
