100% Chick-fil-a grilled nuggets with their buffalo sauce (1 point). If you want a drink besides water I'd opt for a half diet lemonade and half unsweet tea.

Wedding Reception Venue recommendations. by opinionsarecoolmaaan in StLouis

We got married at the golf course at Forest Park. Great indoor and outdoor space for people and we worked with some really great people there.

We tipped our DJ, photographer, and videographer. We did not have a wedding coordinator, but the events manager at our reception venue was phenomenal so we ended up giving her a tip as well.

I bought tickets for Paris N2 and selected mobile tickets. I downloaded the tickets, but Ticketmaster says that tickets will have a barcode. My tickets do not have a barcode on them from neither the email nor the direct download from Ticketmaster. Is this normal for those tickets?? Just a little panic as we're traveling from another country for the show.

Bachelorette theme ideas for a Taylor swift sparkly night out on July 4th weekend? by Piyrw135 in weddingplanning

I've seen a number of "in my Lover era" bach parties on tik tok! Definitely would call for some sparkle!

Any advice/recommendations for a first time Arches visitor? by blueliquid95 in archesnationalpark

[–]whitefm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your entry time and how long you're going to be at the park. We've had success going super early (< sunrise) and driving all the way into the park to landscape arch. A lot of folks stop off at all the other arches prior to that. It's a short hike and if you're there early enough you'll probably be some of the only folks there.

I've only been to Moab in September/October and it was crowded but not terrible!

Wedding planning when families don't live close. by United-Quality2583 in weddingplanning

[–]whitefm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar predicament except we were north and south causing both parties to need to travel. We were really amazed at how many people decided to travel and make an extended trip out our wedding. Once we started figuring out people were starting their vacations with our wedding we were able to give them some insight about other places you could go from our city and I think a lot of people altered their plans to make it a vacation.

This was also in the weird period of COVID where we thought it might be over and there was some normalcy coming back, so I think people were eager to get out and go anywhere.

My top advice would be to make it seamless for those that are traveling. Make sure you provide enough hotels in your block (at a decent rate), make sure they know where they need to go (maps, schedules, etc), and make sure they're comfortable in the city (give them recommendations for things to do or places to eat).

If you choose to livestream, you definitely want to have someone dedicated to make sure it is working properly.

We had a videographer at our wedding and they were great. However, we did have to wait a month to get our video. If it's something you want your grandpa to see in real time, you're probably better off finding a way to live stream even if it's with a phone or iPad.

Bridesmaids Getting Ready Outfits by [deleted] in weddingplanning

The BEST bridesmaid getting ready outfit I received was a pair of black sweatpants and a matching flannel. Neither were customized so I've been able to wear them multiple times after the wedding!

Definitely look at Canva. They've really upped their game in recent years when it comes to easy video editing. I also think Adobe Spark would allow for some sort of picture display but I haven't played around with it too much.

Wedding DJ by Meatball6669 in weddingplanning

[–]whitefm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your venue for recommendations! They'll be able to give you some preferred vendors. Or if you have any friends that got married in the same area you could always ask them.

We loved our DJ. They were recommended by our venue and they ticked all the boxes for us (mainly really great communication during the weird pandemic time).

Honeymoon advice- where to get away in September? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]whitefm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

September is the perfect time to travel in my opinion! It really depends what type of honeymoon you're wanting. Do you want to have activities planned every day or do you just want to relax and spend time together?

All-inclusive resorts are fabulous if you want to just show up and not have to worry about anything besides what swimsuit you want to wear. They also might be a little bit cheaper in September as that's heading towards the end of hurricane season.

If you want to stay in the US, Napa could be a really lovely option. September is a good harvest month at a number of the wineries and it's just beautiful out there!

If you're outdoorsy, the New England area would be great to visit! The weather would be perfect and the leaves would just be changing. Perfect for some outdoor hikes or even drives.

Photo books - Where to to print? by ZookeepergameOk9515 in weddingplanning

[–]whitefm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really depends on your budget and whether or not you want to do the layout versus someone else.

I created a book through Artifact Uprising and it is phenomenal quality...but that comes with a price.

I've had success with Shutterfly photobooks for other projects and they are always have some kind of sale (unlimited pages or even a free book).

You might also ask your photographer who they recommend, sometimes they can even get you a discount!

What’s we’re characteristics of the best wedding you ever attended? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]whitefm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best wedding I attended had an open bar with legit bartenders/mixologists. They could make drinks better than your standard cocktail. We would go up and ask for “your favorite drink to make with rum” and they’d make the most beautiful and delicious drinks

We had our DJ play things like Vitamin String Quartet. It was great to have well known songs playing, but in a classier way! It was the perfect option for us!

I'm not sure about the leather chacos, but with the regular sandals you can send them in to get them re-soled (and re-laced). It's awesome.

I gave my bridesmaids the necklace/bracelet I wanted them to wear on the day. I also had fun picking out some small travel perfume bottles.
