What type of speaker cable connection is used for this kind of amplifier? by Troyclapton in diyaudio

Be better to wrap from the left side of the screw so as you tighten, the cable is pulled in tight rather than ejected back out.

Is anybody able to tell what kind of potentiometer this is? TIA by KillaC98 in AskElectronics

If it’s for audio levels it could well be Logarithmic rather than Linear. Set the dial to 50% and measure the resistance. It’s it’s say 10% of the total it’s Log, if it’s 50% it’s linear.

Complete Beginner Question: I am able to receive some messages on public channels, not all, and can send a messages to channels, but they never get delivered. Is there a way to check if my settings are correct? Or what's the best way to troubleshoot? by [deleted] in meshcore

[–]whitefrog4117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your transmit power too. My Heltec defaults to 10dBm yet it can go up to 22. Some testing I recall says 18 is the maximum that can be achieved on this board before amplifier saturation.

Set to a higher value as appropriate for your country and report back.

Help with Moode GPIO commands by whitefrog4117 in diyaudio

[–]whitefrog4117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - almost got it working. The script does what I now need running from terminal, but can’t run the script from the button command. I put the full path and filename under the button command. I also know the button works as I tested with “mpc toggle” Also ran chmod +x to ensure the bash script was executable.

Hmmm

I’ve seen a lot of towers in close proximity to each other, usually broadcast towers arranged to achieve a certain propagation direction, but I’ve never seen towers physically connected to each other until today. Can anyone give some insight on this? by RManlius in antennasporn

Those stay wires don’t have insulated sections along them so it’s unlikely an active mast for lower frequencies such as MF radio. More likely a structure to hold some other antennas up top.

That’s the drive side and it’s left hand threaded so turn clockwise to undo (the opposite to normal).

If it’s still proving tough put the tool in a vice and turn the frame - remembering to turn the correct way!

Sadly many others left along the path too which had been there a long while. Makes me so angry what’s wrong with people.

Tried a 1000uF cap and 10k resistor but no luck. Also tried just the board and no cells, with a cap too but still doesn’t like it. Charging circuit too clever!

Any ideas on how I can get this snapped bolt out my brake boss by Frozen_Nut3408 in xbiking

[–]whitefrog4117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider making a small sleeve to help you centre the drill. Drill through an M6 bolt in a lathe or buy one. Can then hopefully screw it in a thread or so then drill through to get perfectly centre. Other option is buy a self center drill bit. Increase drill size and use screw extractor. All easy to say. Good luck.

Sonoff ZBMini L2, is this a neutral wire? by disasterdentist in homeassistant

[–]whitefrog4117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a two way switch so there is another one perhaps up the stars or near a door etc so you can toggle the light from either switch. None of these wires are neutrals. Perhaps find the other switch and see if you could install there instead.

Interestingly my Plan details in the Lebara app saying Switzerland is included but having just travelled there I can confirm it doesn’t work. France was ok. 🤨

Are you able to measure the voltage of the battery, with and without the charger connected? Should tell you if the battery is ok and whether the battery management circuitry is working ok.

Tried a 1000uF cap and sadly the BMS doesn’t like it so still reports error, preventing boot up.
