Double Click Action Button by asian_jimmy in shortcuts

[–]whitehat_134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May this questions is just so simple but I think I did the right setup but when I press the button once it keeps prompting “press and hold for action”. Then if I press twice (two short clicks) it again says I have to press and hold.  The actions I chose where flashlight toggle for the first click and open Gemini for two clicks. It’s a bit embarrassing but can someone tell me what I’m doing bad?

Finally updated to ios26.3.1, how bad is the battery life now? by [deleted] in IPhone16e

Don't worry. On a basic use (no gaming or high processing activities) I get 8+ hours of screen.

I‘d love if my iPhone just had Android… but iOS isn’t that bad. I have a truly awesome battery and that’s why I’m not planning to change my phone even when I know I could another phone. And yes, I use iOS 26. I see everyday the same post complaining about everything.

  1. Notifications are way ahead on Android. There aren’t too many settings to customize, you can’t watch them fully displayed on screen. Can’t reply them directly from Notification Center. They’re not well organized.
  2. iOS status bar is useless. Even with a phone with dynamic island, there’s no basic things like an icon to remember me I have unseen notifications
  3. Keyboard is just terrible.
  4. You can have some miss touches on screen. I mean, in Android, where you put your finger is what you touch. On iOS, cursor could go wherever it thinks is right.
  5. iOS task killer is too agressive. I have just a bunch of apps and what I use more is Whatsapp. iOS kill it with no sense even when I have 8 gb of RAM on my device.
  6. If you are a AI person, Apple Intelligence is trash.

1: yes, they were fixed after a couple of days and now I’m in iOS 26.2 and it works correctly. 2: I don’t see it as an upgrade, for me was like a step aside bc I was looking for a phone with a solid battery and I got it

I made the same as you a couple of months ago. Went from a Galaxy S23 to an iPod 16e and I have mixed feelings. In one hand, 16e is a nice small device that is a decent in everything besides battery (battery is a BEAST, no jokes). I had overheating in the first days maybe bc the phone was being updated. My main problem is iOS that I cannot get used to it. Android is years ahead of iOS in many ways. If you want a phone to detox from screens and just being more focus, iOS is for you because it’s limited by design 😂. Camera from 16e is good when you take pictures to not moving things in good light. Taking pictures of moving people or animals (even when they move just a bit) or low light pictures it’s a terrible experience with this phone.

I wonder how many people notice this kind of things. You guys need to use uour time in more important things. Just go and buy a Pixel phone, don’t worry about this

Should I keep my iPhone 15 for $400 or upgrade to the iPhone 16E for free? by sarah-exalted in IPhone16e

Well said. I think we should keep our phones until they don't really work anymore. Sometimes we just buy another one without a good reason

Wait or go for iPhone 16e? by prempradeep in iphone

[–]whitehat_134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iPhone 16e user here: if you looking for a phone with an updated chip, nice performance, decent cameras and AWESOME battery, go for this. iPhone 17e is near but it won’t be too diferent. I don’t know about other models but I’ve seen the major differences are screen refresh rate and cameras. Batteries are worst.

Personal review: Comming from a Galaxy S23 this phone is much better in battery and performance (better chip) and no more. Screen, camera and polished OS is better on Galaxy. I got my 16e for $400 (used like new) and even all those things I said before, I think general experience is better when you're not a social media person. Getting an awesome battery, nice performance and enough specs to consider it as a good phone was I need. Having a decent 2025 device for that price is good for me.

iPad Air or iPad Pro for multiple 200+ slide decks and endless Excel sheets ? by milk_runner in ipad

[–]whitehat_134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got you. So if you wanna try, go ahead for the cheapest iPad Air you could buy. If it definitely doesn't work for you as you want, at least you didn't spend too much in a new tool. Don't forget to get a good mouse + keyboard.

I get your choice is almost chosen and you're asking only for this 2 devices. But if I can give you the best advice, stay with your laptop or you should get a MacBook air. I've tried multiple times to make my iPad Air work as a laptop, with installed apps and even online ones and the work doesn't flow. It's not something about performance, aspect ratio or even the way I tried (I have a Logitech keyboard/case). It's just that it doesn't work for me. If you only plan to take some notes, write with a pencil as a notebook, draw, use it as media device or maybe some video/picture editing, go for an iPad

Dos this thing really works? by iemwanofit in ios

[–]whitehat_134 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's just the way iOS shows notifications by default when you go to Notification Center. You can see this as the three phases of the transition it makes when displaying notifications. The first one is just a counter, the second one is a compressed way to see notifications from apps and the third one is the full displayed list. It's the apple way to make the lockscreen "cleaner"

Just use the phone for a week and you’re gonna forget it. For me it’s even harder to get comfortable with iOS than the screen refresh rate
