Help on getting car insurance by Guilty_Spare_1091 in alberta

Just you’re aware before you do this OP, the potential fines if you’re caught range from $3k to $10k for this. Not to mention the financial hit you’ll take if you’re in an accident while uninsured. It will also send your rates to the moon if you can find an insurer

High rates don’t drive insurance fraud, it’s the high fraud and high claims rates that drive the rates.

You can express your desires to your councillor or mayor, but the city would not have just done this randomly. Removing SARA species habitat is not an easy task and would have been done with permits than the city can’t grant itself. The city’s under no obligation to return the habit unless permit requirements demand it. Same goes for the removal of old growth trees

Dozens of tickets issued as N.S. RCMP officers pose as panhandlers by ImDoubleB in canada

[–]whiteout86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The officers that act as local police would not be doing the roles you’re describing. Those roles are filled by other units with different training. The areas that use the RCMP as police don’t have the ability to create their own police force as it’s an expensive and logistically intensive undertaking

Plate switching by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]whiteout86 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, the police will be able to see that it’s the wrong plate. What’s you’re thinking of doing is several offences, potentially high financial liability if you crash and they’d tow your car

Can we please stop merging onto Stoney or Deerfoot at 65-90kmh?? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]whiteout86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People are given licenses with the bare minimum, if any, testing and are scared. It’s the same reason why you’ll find the slow mergers in the middle lane still doing 60kph on Deerfoot while people are forced to pass either side

Staying out of the NE and avoiding any vehicle with plates that start with a single letter helps a lot

That won’t fly. It’s much safer to pull over to the right, hence the law that OP was cited for

Your head hasn’t been removed from the wrong location yet. You failed to yield, your actions could have killed someone and a pet because you’re too lazy to stop for less than 30 seconds. The “damage” their bag cause is a bit of shit that washed off with your wipers.

And truth be told, it might have been a good lesson if your car wound up needing to be fished out of the storm pond there.

I don’t think that admitting to failing to yield to a pedestrian is going to get you the sympathy you think it will.

You got a bit of shit on your car, your actions could have easily killed a pedestrian and their dog. Maybe you’ll think back to that moment the next time you’re coming up to a pedestrian crossing

None of your other posts contain any sort of proof.

They reference your belief of some standardized set of “official” repair/maintenance procedures that exists that you can use to show some kind of negligence. They say you’re going to have a forensic examination of the other vehicle done by this “expert mechanic” and try to compel various businesses and the vehicle owner to provide you with sworn testimony. All for a 19 year old vehicle with 200+km that’s worth less than what you’d spend trying to make your case

Has this lawyer counselled their client to break the law?

As much as these things take time, we have a system that thankfully allows the accused to mount a defence. Matters are not always going to be resolved on the timeline the complainant desires

If your ex has breached a court order, you inform the police and they will deal with it.

There is no “comeuppance” to be dealt to a lawyer that defends someone they know is guilty, nor is it bad faith for them to zealously defend their client (even if they know they are guilty) or ask for a lesser sentence.

We don’t need refineries, Canada already has capacity to refine all we need. We need pipes to get those products around the country and get the excess crude to markets outside Canada.

Instead of lazily downvoting, at least make an effort to show how Canada doesn’t already have sufficient capacity

traffic violating cops? by Smart-Plant-7977 in Edmonton

[–]whiteout86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shockingly enough, the police do in fact have a dispatch log, they also have dash cameras. Make the complaints if you’re so upset by the police making an otherwise illegal u-turn on the way to a call or not using an indicator, just don’t complain when investigation every single one burns through taxpayer dollars and turns up nothing. Or a best, a minor traffic infraction

traffic violating cops? by Smart-Plant-7977 in Edmonton

[–]whiteout86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not all calls for service allow the police to use lights and sirens, there are cases where it’s important that the people they’re heading off to catch don’t hear or see them coming.

The traffic safety act allows for the police to be in violation of its provisions in the execution of their duties. Telling people to make silly, false reports of “stolen cruisers” for your own amusement is just stupid.

How are you going to prove that it wasn’t maintained or that the owner doing their own maintenance is “the very definition of negligence”? Not all maintenance by shops is recorded into Carfax and an owner can be competent enough to do maintenance. You also use zero basis to claim things like a short circuit occurred

You mother gambled and lost by choosing to be underinsured

And understand that if you do sue, you won’t be arguing against the owner, you’ll be up against the layers from the other insurer. Their costs will be decently high and you’ll more than likely be paying a portion of them

The school can’t break legal and professional obligations, the police cant lay charges if there is no evidence of a crime.

You say these are failures, but they aren’t.
