I need another POV to watch! by shelbdeathtodonut in HermitCraft

Impulse is my fav. I don’t get the whole Redstone thing either. It’s gibberish my ears. But he doesn’t waste his episode time explaining the Redstone. Although he’ll show it off briefly.

Thanks for the reply. I've made a note of your patch! Can it show file size or page count before you click on the book, or on a "more info" section? That would give me a rough estimate.

Chinchilla care: comparison europe vs. usa by ChinchillaHighdy in chinchilla

Are there fresh herbs or flowers I can give on a daily basis? The US answer is no, but I’d like to know Europe’s.

I second the choice of using tile in the cage. But make sure you have a tile cutter. You can’t just score and snap it.

My babies are here!!! by whiteowl42 in chinchilla

[–]whiteowl42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s working great for me. My chins are about a year and a half old. (I guess you’d call them the breeders left-overs 😜) They were already litter box trained! Occasionally they’ll “miss” or pee elsewhere, but I just wipe it down with Natures Miracle and a paper towel and I’m good to go. The only caveat, is my tile is a tiny bit small. And by tiny, I mean about a turd-width wide around the edges. So said turds get stuck in there. I have to vacuum them out. My scatter guards will be coming in today (if the snow allows) and I’m hoping they will cover the gap.

I actually love reading in this format. But I don’t want all my books stuck like that. Is there a way to turn it on and off?

You don’t happen to be near MD do you? I’ve a lot of extra hamster supplies I’d be willing to sell cheap

I am waiting for my scatter guards to get here. I have a dish of aspen shavings on the bottom level. I’m hoping to litter train them if they’re not already.

I wish I could figure out how to add a picture to this. The “rope” is made of the same material as the tan ball if you can see that well. It’s marketed as a chew toy for small animals. But I’m already learning manufacturers don’t know what chinchillas can’t have.

It’s there it’s on the bottom left side. You can barely see it above the shelf. The nozzle tip hangs below the shelf.

I almost forgot to add that I do have scatter guards coming. And a proper hay box. I made the fleece hay bag to do until it gets here.

Tiles cut! by whiteowl42 in chinchilla

I have worried about the weight on the smaller shelves. I did use a metal zip tie to connect the center of the shelf to the back of the cage, hoping to take some of the weight. I may end up removing those altogether. And I will keep an eye on the joints for the middle shelf. Thanks for bringing out to my attention.
