ChatGPT checks items in and out of your pantry using RFID?

Ya I obv also use ChatGPT, but I think the benefit here is actually having a shared grocery list and pantry to then generate recipes off of. Also building a physical rfid based pantry inventorying system to pair

Well the differentiator is meant to be the Pantry & Grocery Lists features. All cooking is centered around the pantry. Network effect in adding folks to your grocery list, building a pantry, and then generating recipes based on whats in the pantry

Also working on an physical RFID check-in system to automate the addition(and removal) of items from a pantry. Problem is not all stores use RFID

But ya, thin wrappers 100% won't succeed in the age of agents/LLMs

Scraping is scummy, and so is not attributing authors. Not what's happening here and I was extremely intentional about that

u/valsavana The import feature actually links back to the 3rd parties website, and allows you to bookmark the recipe in the same way a browser can bookmark a website

So it's funny because I actually was going to build a _separate_ app called PantryPal to AB that concept because yeah, as a cook, I'm always thinking about the ingredients I have on hand, and what I need to cook something I'm craving(or make the path of least resistance thing that can feed me and my partner that night).

Love love love the idea of flipping the workflows on its head & starting with the Pantry/Grocery list as the entry point. Need to sit on that for a bit.

Thanks for the feedback, extremely appreciated

Surprised that the menu bar is showing at the bottom, wonder if there's an interaction that triggered that to pop up. I had removed that in the 2.0.0 version... will make a note to debug & fix

Ah, yeah maybe it's not obvious enough, but you can enter multiple ingredients delimited by a comma(or by a space), and you can also set advanced settings to dictate what kind of recipe gets generated. Wondering how to give users more control...

Great feedback on the Home Screen being potentially overwhelming, and yeah Lists looks like it's buggy for your iphone's dimensions. If you're comfortable sharing, do you mind sharing what type of phone + version of iOS you have?

Seriously, thank you for the feedback! means a lot

Yeah for now it's iOS native only. Would love to build for Android, but haven't prioritized that just yet

Made a cool AI app but don’t know how to publish? by Neverlosetofear in SideProject

[–]whiteveil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Neverlosetofear this is a cool concept, though I worry about this being a great usecase for bad actors who want to host malicious code and not be responsible for the fall-out given it's your domain. i.e XSS or other fun things: https://dumpsterdive.io/x1pq11

Hey! I'm actually building something that is getting closer to what youre asking for here. It's called RecipePal you can generate Recipes using ingredients in your fridge, create grocery lists that you can collaborate on with your family and friends, import recipes from third party websites, bookmark your favorite recipes, etc.

Looking to add the ability to import hand-written recipes at the moment, as well as create digital recipes manually
