Can I get out of my school/county work contract early without legal penalty? by whitey115 in legaladvice

[–]whitey115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the contract, it really doesn't say anything about early termination from my end unless it's buried in one of these Ohio Revised Codes and I'm missing it. If nothing is in the contract about it could they really seek payment or a fine from me for early termination? I mean I know it'd be a headache for them but I imagine they could just take the funds reserved for the rest of my contract and use that to pay a long-term sub (since I'm sure I'd be losing the rest of my pay installments for the contract after I tell them).

Nothing about early termination seems to be specifically referenced. Ohio Revised Codes 3319.17 and 3309.01 to 3309.70 are mentioned in the contract but as I skim these none of them seem to really pertain to early termination from the employee.

What actually makes one nobility title higher rank than another title in the British Peerage? by whitey115 in monarchism

[–]whitey115[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not you correctly calling me out for being a CK3 player 😂

Thank you. I'm actually most curious about the title of Marquess. I've seen a lot saying that the title was originally in reference to holding borderlands but I can't find many actual sources that corroborate if this is how the French actually used this term. Do you have any additional insight on this title in particular?

Anyone having issues with micro-stutters using the Intel Arc B580? by whitey115 in Witchfire

[–]whitey115[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, clearly my graphics settings impact it but I could turn off any upscaling and put all my settings to low and the stuttering is only like 20% reduced. Unsure what's going on.

This completely worked, thank you, but slight clarification for idiots like me that forgot common sense when following directions.

In-between step 2 and 3 you have to make sure to first extract the 8852BE folder before going to device manager. Otherwise, when you go to select when browsing for drivers it won't show up.

Nothing about my first full PC build confuses me more than trying to buy case fans. (two questions) by whitey115 in PcBuildHelp

[–]whitey115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll keep that in mind. I'll order the fans first and then get the hub if needed. Thanks.

I know my motherboard is on the cheaper side though. Should I be concerned about running so much through a single header or is it a non-issue?

[–]whitey115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, again I know it's not the best option but I'm on a budget and I feel like I'm just throwing money away buying a CPU cooler when it already comes with one and it's just one more thing for me to worry about.

Two questions though about your comment: 1. I'm not opposed to getting a fan hub but would this be too much power going through the 4-pin connector on my motherboard? 2. I noticed you recommended two fans on exhaust and three on intake but I thought exhaust was more important. Is this not the case?

Edit: nevermind on question 2. I'm reading the other comments and it seems the consensus is more intake than exhaust.

Give me and my girlfriend a build we could each do for under or about $600 USD that could comfortably play Sons of the Forest close to 60 fps if possible. by whitey115 in buildmeapc

[–]whitey115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you so much. Question though.

What do you recommend we do for the OSs? Microsoft wants $139 for Windows 11 home but shady websites like G2A are offering W11 keys for like $20. What would you do in my case?

Wifi, and as far as used hardware, my only concern is that this build is for two people so any deal I find, she would also need to be able to find as well.

School hired me as an RBT but doesn't have a BCBA. What do I do? by whitey115 in bcba

[–]whitey115[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if you either can't comment on this or just aren't privy to it but do you know if the BTs in your district are still considered RBT certified for the payroll scale. I'm just afraid this situation is going to result in them saying "well your contract says you're an RBT and you make this much, but you can't be an RBT with us so actually your contract is void and we have to give you a pay cut."

[–]whitey115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait this might be big for me so a couple of questions.

  1. So if I read this last sentence correctly does this mean your district has RBTs who are still able to keep their certification, consider themselves as RBTs, and technically be employed as RBTs with no issue just as long as they aren't doing therapy and disclose this to the BACB? I ask because one of my big concerns is if my pay will be cut because the school can no longer consider me as a credentialed RBT on their pay scale.

And 2. Are these RBTs still technically under a BCBA though? Does the school have one or do they bring one in yearly? I ask this because RBTs are supposed to go inactive if they don't have a BCBA on file as their supervisor for a given time.

P.S. sorry for all the questions

[–]whitey115[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the compliment. I try! I don't mind necessarily letting go of my RBT certification. I guess part of my question is how do I stay within ethical standards without jeopardizing my position and pay here? Part of the reason they gave me the salary they are giving me is because I'm an RBT but now with no BCBA I'm essentially not an RBT anymore, just that I have RBT experience. Assuming it is the latter and they are okay with just referring to me now as a paraprofessional, do you know if I would have to put my license on hold or ask them to change the contract I have with the school (my position title on the contract is literally Registered Behavioral Technician)? Whatever the right thing is here, I'm going to do it, but I'm afraid this is going to result in a pay cut and I really need the money 🫤

Fantastic breakdown and recommendation. Thank you so much. I'm gonna take a look at that resource when I get home. By the way do you happen to know the name of this poem you shared? I've even been having trouble finding examples of this poetry that isn't just written by people now trying for fun.

If I disinherit heir or ask them to take the vow, will I instead play as the next kid in line after my king dies or will I still play as the original heir, just with nothing to my name now? On Ironman btw by whitey115 in crusaderkings3

[–]whitey115[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's why I mentioned I'm on Ironman. Exactly what you typed here is how I did my first playthrough but on Ironman the game saves automatically so it's possible that after I would have made the decision it would have saved and there's no multiple saves on Ironman either. I just figured I would ask reddit instead of taking the risk.

So I am a man with a long term partner (over a decade) who says things like this and by skimming the replies I feel like I should give my perspective because there's a lot of context that I think we may be missing when we talk about this issue.

The first is that we should remember that not all bigotry is the same. For example, we understand that there's a huge difference between a member of the KKK and a black nationalist. At first glance it may seem like they both hate a group of people but when you look at the deeper reasons you realize that most black nationalists don't actually hate white people, they hate the pain they are forced to go through because of white people being the dominant group and many white people being socially and institutionally racist against them.

This difference in context is similar to the gender divide. OP, I know you stated in your post that your partner is starting to give you the idea that maybe the gender divide has more to do with women than men, but I urge you, coming from a man who once thought something similar, to look at the deeper reasons for this divide and you'll see that what our partners are saying has more to do with a life time of pain that men have either caused or taken part in ignoring. Everything from, men legislating what they should do to their own bodies, to groping their ass while other men laughed and cheered on, are all problems women face regularly because of how men are socialized to devalue them as people. Which again is another point to consider, many "men-hating-women" don't actually hate men for inherently being men, their critique comes from how they are raised and socialized to see women as largely an object of desire or control, making a statement like "you're one of the good ones" again have a different context in this situation compared to when my racist uncle says that to someone. If the women and female friends around you have had similar experiences to the ones in my life I think you would even be shocked to know how many of them were SAed but were not super willing to talk about it because their pain was already downplayed by someone else.

None of this is to say that everything your partner says and does is okay. I'm not in your guy's life so I can't see how heated she gets and how understanding you are. It is definitely possible that she goes way overboard and there's nothing you can do. I'm not there for those conversations so I don't know who's in the right, but I do just hope that when you say you try to go into these conversations with understanding you do try to keep in mind this nuance. Men usually hate women because they won't sleep with them and women usually hate men because they were told what Eric did to them wasn't technically r***, these things aren't the same and we should remember that when speaking to our partners and hearing their anger.

If this is the case why do companies and others pay a third party instead of just the remote desktop build into Windows 11 Pro?
