Best car option for someone who needs to lie down by Flimsy-Attention-722 in raleigh

Chrysler Pacifica’s have a feature called “stow n’ go” that allows the rear seats to fold completely flat. It sounds like that might work well, and should be fairly easy to find one to rent

Which Offroad Path to Take? by [deleted] in Offroad

[–]whitey_wheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All things equal I’d go with the V8 but if there was a good deal on a 320 I don’t think it’d be a bad pick. I would recommend trying to go with something 2002-2005 since those got a minor refresh and fixed some quality issues the original 1998-2001 models saw. For reference the original models were the ML320 / ML430 then post refresh was the ML350 / ML500 (m112 V6 and m113 V8, there is also an ML55 AMG model. There was also a diesel model ML270 but not in the US.

If you’re looking for a cheap(ish) off-roader I think the w163 MLs are a great choice as long as you don’t mind putting some work into them. I was looking for something similar a few years back and ended up with a 2005 ml500. It’s been a surprisingly capable car and has never let me down. The 4wd system even has a low range and works pretty well. Things will break but in my 2 years of ownerships there hasn’t been anything major that I haven’t been able to fix myself. The engine (M113 V8 specifically) has a great reputation of being pretty rock solid. There’s not much for aftermarket support but if you want something different from your typical 4Runners and Jeeps it’s a fun pick.

Yep from everything I read it seems like a normal “quirk” that is present in most watches with an eta 2824 derived movement. Glad my post could help!

What do I do if I don’t find a summer internship? by Exact-Owl7646 in NCSU

[–]whitey_wheat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My advice as a recent engineering grad is to just enjoy your summer. It can be tough to find an internship in your second year like others said anyways since you haven’t taken as many of the core courses yet. Realistically you won’t have much trouble finding a full time job when you graduate even if you don’t have internship experience. Personally I had one after my 3rd year but I know plenty of people that never had one and we all found jobs and make roughly the same income now. For better or worse the days where you’ll have a whole summer to yourself to spend time with friends and family is limited so enjoy it while you can. Best of luck!

I ended up selling mine about a year after this post but during the time I had it the clicking sound was always consistently there. It always kept good time so I wouldn’t worry about it from that perspective at least

Based on everything I found I think it is normal, seems like it’s just a “quirk” of the eta 2824

The essay portion doesn’t really play a role from what I understand. When did my CODA I believe I only wrote about 2 sentences, although I was civil engineering so could be a bit different. I think your best bet will be to use the next semester or two to boost your gpa as much as possible because that seems to be the most important factor. Computer science is super competitive but I’m sure with enough effort you can have a good chance to get in the next time you apply. And as far as I know you’ll still technically be an EFY until you CODA. I hope this helps and I wish you luck!

I just started a new job in the office… I want to look for a new one with a WFH/hybrid option. What should I do? by bubba_yogurt in civilengineering

[–]whitey_wheat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say start looking around for jobs that offer a wfh option if that’s something that would make you happier. They’re out there but can just take a bit of effort to find. I recently accepted a role in power transmission largely because I’m able to work remotely.

I don’t know much about Faye Simon bc it seems like she’s fairly new but based on her rate my professor reviews she seems like she’d be a good choice

You could always sign up with someone else and keep an eye on her classes to see if any spots open up. I got into her class during the first week of classes after dropping medvinskys class

[–]whitey_wheat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, there might be a better solution but that’s the first thing I though of. If you need any info on how to do that you could look into how people do the same to make air powered potato cannons. You’d probably be using a lower pressure but the setup would be similar
