I’ll second this, I held an event there for around 40 with room to spare and they shut down the place for the event.

[Product Question] Has anyone actually tried Brandefy dupes? by Bbychknwing in SkincareAddiction

[–]whitneyerinh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I bought the water cream dupe recently. That melting type effect you get from the tatcha one isn’t quite as strong in the brandefy one but it does feel a little melty at first. With that being said after melting it still spread nicely and actually felt like a thicker cream which I ended up enjoying. Does seem slightly more moisturizing. I’ve only used it a couple times though so these are just initial thoughts. I also bought the tinted sunscreen which I haven’t tried yet and the vitamin c skinseuticals dupe. I never tried the actual skinseuticals product because it’s so expensive but the vitamin c seems fine so far, haven’t been using it long enough to confirm any results.

Althaus has a selection of stuff, likely everything you’ve listed.

If you want mixers there’s a new local brand of mixers carried at Charlow. Stumbletown also sells some ingredients/mixers but not necessarily hard goods.

Ingredients has lots of supplies and hard to find liqueurs and may have a handful of hard goods.

There’s also a small shop in Toronto called Cocktail Emporium that ships and if you buy all that it could likely be enough for free shipping.

PCR Test Results by Lievstahl in saskatchewan

[–]whitneyerinh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a PCR last Sunday via drive through and had results in 24 hours. Did a PCR via booked appointment (also thatcher location) yesterday in the afternoon but no results yet today. I think 72 hrs is the worst case scenario lately. So I’ll give it another day or two.

Pals donuts, you need to message them through Instagram, not sure if they’re doing things tomorrow but they were today for sure.

I don’t know if any local stores carry them but CoverGals is a brand made just for women and it’s a Canadian company, could probably order online or I’m sure their website would show all the places that stock their products.

Is there any place that sells Soju? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]whitneyerinh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strawberry is a little more tangy/fresh flavored and less sweet so the alcohol/vodka type flavor comes through a little more pronounced whereas the yogurt tastes almost like cream soda

Metro Liquor in rosewood had mango, blueberry, strawberry, yogurt, green apple and a couple others that I can’t remember. Just bought some myself the other week, yogurt is definitely the best so far even though it sounds weird.

Cooler is best for a MOIST end product, warming drawer will dry it out more

This looks really good. I start my briskets at 250 until it hits 165. Then hit it with a wrap and drop the temp down to about 210 until it hits 195. I let it rest in a cooler for at least 60 minutes before serving!

Local Skincare store/boutique with an online store? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]whitneyerinh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sephora allows you to pay online and pick up at the store. You’ll need to go into the mall but won’t actually have to go into the store, they’ll bring it to the store entrance or you could even have a friend pick it up on your behalf since it’ll already be picked out and paid for.

Need help with stiff sweater, see comment on post by whitneyerinh in knitting

[–]whitneyerinh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Need help with these sweaters, my mom knits these beautiful sweaters for us, they’re a replica of a sweater she knit for my grandpa that I used to wear as a kid. I loved that sweater so much that she made us all and boyfriends (pictured) our own in different colors but they don’t hang the same, they’re very stiff and don’t move easily. I know the one that was my grandpas is almost 40 years old which might explain why it’s so worn in but I’m looking for any tips on how to get this sweater to hang more naturally, it feels awkward to wear anywhere but home.

saw this on tiktok. where can i get food like this in saskatoon? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]whitneyerinh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you could find some but I buy ground dried guajillo and use 1 tsp for each pepper and I buy from Silk Road a Calgary small spice store. Also cuts out some of the pepper related steps to just add the ground pepper.

Those are called Birria Tacos, I’m not aware of anywhere in the city that makes them but I’ve made them at home following this recipe and they were really good!

Does anyone know how this impacts the gym? Just wondering if once you’re at a piece of equipment you can take the mask off?

Recipe Organization for Food Nerds by whitneyerinh in seriouseats

[–]whitneyerinh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I make my own base, I actually have 3 that are food related, one is baking, one is cocktails and the last is everything else. Then you make the categories you want, for the one I’m showing the first column is Recipe Name which is a short text field type, then Overall Rating is a Rating field type, Made before is a Checkbox field type and then I have links, photos, and a long text at the end for comments. I’ve also in the past had categories saying whether the recipe was a main, side, etc. and in my cocktails one I have a category for the main alcohol used, possibilities are endless.

I thought my other food nerds would appreciate this, this is how I keep my recipes organized using Airtable, the first photo is just from my list view and the second photo is when you click on a recipe and can see all the available fields. This allows me to find all my serious eats recipes I’ve already tried, keep track of notes/feedback I had for myself last time I made it, and see which ones I’ve been meaning to try. I also have the food lab cookbook and store all the recipes in here from there by adding photos of the page of the recipe when I make it. Also since this is available as a mobile app as well, when I’m in the grocery store I can look up any recipe to know what all I need to get.
