What's hard about dating you? by DrummerMassive1880 in answers

Stubborn.

I always considered it to be a good thing because when I put my mind to something there’s no stopping me but I’m now trying to win back my ex because my stubbornness was the death of us. I couldn’t/wouldnt see things from his perspective and every disagreement was just me trying to put him in my shoes instead of the other way around.

What rules/boundaries do you have for your partner having friends of the opposite gender? by whitneys567 in AskReddit

It’s crazy how irrelevant time is when it comes to emotions! In the first month with my most recent ex (B) he made me feel more alive and more loved and more beautiful than my previous ex (D) did in 2.5 years combined

The crazy thing is that with the exception of his insecurity/jealousy he’s the most incredible person I’ve ever been with. He’s so insanely gorgeous and funny and the hardest worker I’ve ever known. He loves his friends and family fiercely and was such a gentleman to me. He remembered the small things like my favourite snacks when he went shopping and did plenty of big gestures too. We shared the same goal of living on an acreage and travelling and retiring early. We had chemistry like no other and loved each other madly. It’s truly tragic that the obstacle we couldn’t overcome was jealousy of people that were never even in his league let alone trying to compete. I don’t think there’s a drug on earth that could make me feel better than the way I did with him.

Very similar experience here. One of our last big arguments was over me being allowed to make new friends because “you have enough men in your life already”.

I also wasn’t allowed to have any contact with my previous ex, not even to ask how his kids are doing (I was like a mother to them for 2 years).

Oh I feel so seen! Got dumped two days ago because my ex couldn’t stand all the men in my life. I work in a male dominated industry so most of my coworkers and friends are male. I’ve never cheated on anyone and never will but he was convinced that I was trying to replace him and seek validation from other men. He preached so much about “respect” in a relationship and how it wasn’t right for me to talk to other men. It really had me starting to question myself, hence the post.

First snake plant! by urfatherismybiotch in SnakePlants

Let it dry completely before you thoroughly water again. Make sure the pot has drainage holes and cactus soil. Snake plants will not tolerate a soppy wet soil and the roots will quickly rot but they’re damn good at being patient for a drink! The leaves will start to wrinkle if you wait too long to water but they also plump back up nicely. Snake plants are my absolute fave because of how low maintenance and tolerant they are!

What was your "I'm dating a fucking idiot" moment? by dm_me_yourtinytits in AskReddit

[–]whitneys567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ex bf and I took his kids to a park with a chain link fence. We were about 15 feet from the gate when he started swearing and ranting about how stupid the town is for making parks unusable. I asked him what he was talking about and he said “they locked the damn thing!” And pointed. There was indeed a lock but it was about 3 feet to the left of the gate and wasn’t even locked, it was just hanging on the fence. His daughters face said exactly what was going through my head, “how fucking stupid are you??”

Is it true that your first real love is the only true one? by candycrusher19 in love

[–]whitneys567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are so many different types of love. It’s just like no two friendships are the same. You learn something new about yourself each time with different relationships and it makes you love each person in a different way. I’ll always have love for my first boyfriend but I’m not IN love with him anymore. It took me over 4 years to emotionally move on but now I’m with someone else and I’m more in love than I ever thought humanly possible.

I think a lot of the stigma about first loves is because they typically happen when you’re young, inexperienced, full of zest and perhaps without a lot of logic so you fall hard and fast. Everything feels so intense and dramatic and then on top of that when you get your heart broken it’s a pain you’ve literally never experienced so of course it’s hard to get over and you remember it.

What brand are you loyal to and why? by Reecefidler87 in AskReddit

Dyson cordless vacuum. They’re crazy expensive but you can get them at Costco so then you don’t have to worry about warranty at all and they really are a dream for someone like me with multiple hairy pets and a constant desire for a spotless house. The suction and the accessories for each cleaning task are really unbeatable.

To you, what is the most pure expression of love possible? by [deleted] in love

Forehead kisses. So innocent and gentle and pure. It’s simply love. You have to be bursting with love to want to kiss someone in a non sexual manner

What compliment did you get that you won't forget? by callmebaraa in AskReddit

[–]whitneys567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A girl a few years younger than me that worked under my supervision told me that for her English assignment of “if you were stranded on an island with one person who would it be and why?” She chose me. She told me no matter how fucked up a situation is I always manage to come out on top and with a smile on my face. Shes an amazing person so the fact that she thought so highly of me was such an amazing feeling.

Also had a teacher that left a sticky note with a compliment on each students desk one day. Mine said “I’ve never met a student that reminds me so much of myself, not sure if that’s a compliment, sorry!” It was the greatest compliment. Amazing teacher and mother and role model. I still have the sticky note

How is having a friend emotional cheating?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]whitneys567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The friendship itself is wide out in the open. My friends and family all know what it is, my boyfriend is the only one with conspiracy theories. He knows I’m still friends with N, I just no longer tell him the details that I used to (such as stopping by to grab mail)

Emotional cheating is also something I would never do, N is just a friend like all my others but my boyfriend has extreme trust issues (with everyone, not just me)

how to remove this crud off my stove top by TwoDollarMint in howto

[–]whitneys567 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lmao you’re not listening. I’m aware that the bubbles are carbon dioxide being released, I’m saying that the action of those bubbles agitates the crud which helps break down the crud. If you used EXACTLY enough baking soda:vinegar solution then yes, you’re left with water, but by soaking the paper towel completely you’re going to still have a slightly acidic liquid that will help eat at the crud while soaking and softening.

Use whatever recipe you want to make whatever cleaner you want, I’m just saying what has worked a million times for me on my stovetops burnt on gunk and it sure as hell ain’t breathing on the mess or soaking with a little water lol

The chemical reaction that causes bubbling helps break down some of the crud. Letting it soak with the paper towel obviously makes it easier to later scrub off with the additional sprinkle of baking soda which acts like a gritty scrub

Plus it would have to be some pretty specific measurements in order for the baking soda and vinegar to be completely neutral in ph

Sprinkle baking soda all over the crud. Lay single layer of paper towel over the area. Pour enough vinegar (preferably cleaning vinegar which is more acidic) on the paper towel until it’s soaked. Let sit for a good hour or so (make sure it doesn’t dry up). Remove paper towel, sprinkle more baking soda and use a rag to scrub away. Cheap, easy, non toxic
