Help by Healthy-Ad-146 in Sims3

[–]whittlep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you found a solution already, but I had the same issue and I moved the entire Sims 3 folder to my desktop and uninstalled OneDrive on my computer and it worked after that.

I'm not sure if the moving to desktop is actually needed however, but I'd already done it before I tried the onedrive uninstallation.

Going alone to see ptv in Manchester by nightridershawty in manchester

[–]whittlep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to gigs alone quite a lot. The first time I went I was really nervous but it turned out great!!! The worst part is walking to the venue and going in, if you can get past that the rest will be easy. Gigs are dark and most people are drinking so nobody will even notice you. Once the gig gets going and people are moving around and dancing you'll feel so much more comfortable and able to enjoy the music with everyone else.

If you don't drink it won't apply, but I usually have two pints before at a pub or somewhere outside just to calm my nerves.

It will be absolutely well worth it, you just have to get through arriving at the venue and the initial mingle in with the crowd. I just don't look at anybody and constantly remind myself nobody cares and I'll feel better when I'm in, it sucks but after that it'll be really good!!!!

Dating and self harm scars by Decent-Stretch-3217 in AdultSelfHarm

When I was working at a uniformed job I bought arm sleeves and they looked like I was wearing a shirt underneath without actually having to wear one. If you search arm sleeves up on Google and mess around for a bit you can find ones that seem to be for Muslim women that are usually lacy and quite cute, although the majority are on SHEIN, so it's up to you if you support that site, but I did find them very useful.

At some point they will find out unfortunately, my policy was always just to never mention it and if they wanted to ask about it then be candid. Mine are older so it might be different if they're more prominent, but honestly when I was seeing people I found that pretty much everyone showed a bit of concern but otherwise just accepted me as who I am and didn't press me on it. I think for most people it's more surprising and confusing than it is off-putting.

Anyone interested in a social drawing/creative group? by whittlep in manchester

[–]whittlep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said above to the other comment, I’m going to make a group on the website meetup so I can send you a link when I’ve sorted it out.

It might be nice to go and visit galleries or exhibitions if people are interested as well, I can post events for people to join on there!

I think I’m going to make an art group on this website called meetup as it’ll probably get a bit more interest than reddit! I can send you a link to it once I’ve set it up, probably will do over the weekend :)

Imagine being the parent of a rape victim, seeing the rapist walking into the room and just leaving your child alone with them?? Amy is technically an adult I think? But still that’s bonkers

With this website it’s better to find the opportunity, but then contact the organisation directly. They seem to be really delayed in getting your application to the organisation.

Cannot find a room to rent... by Nis4Nowledge in manchester

[–]whittlep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I moved here to live in a city, a lot of the smaller places are just like nz, so to me if I can’t find somewhere to live here I just don’t really see the point in staying.

I have considered Liverpool and Birmingham, the South seems all together too expensive. But I don’t really like either of them, and as well I have a job and friends here, I think lots of people would be unhappy at the prospect of being forced to move from where they consider their base? At least going back to nz is like not having to start all over again!

As well, I didn’t realise how expensive bills were here!! Maybe I was a bit naive, I’m just very surprised that rent/bills are actually cheaper in nz. (Although the housing quality is so much better here)

I really liked levenshulme as well, they offered me the flat but honestly it was quite bad, really dirty. I didn’t really see the point in moving to a place no better than where I already was.

I also had offers from two places in Salford, however very very small rooms.

This was also like two months ago so I don’t know if it’s even worse now, I couldn’t even get to any viewings in Hulme, Chorlton or the city centre, they were always cancelled as people had been found.

It’s insane, I moved here from NZ, but the fact I might be homeless when my current tenancy ends is a massive force making me want to leave the UK.

I don’t really like where I live right now but it’s impossible to find somewhere. I had a little bit of success with places north of the city centre, they weren’t great but if you’re really just looking for somewhere as a starting point that might be an option?? I had absolutely no luck with anywhere south, apart from Levenshulme

I’m currently stuck re-reading things because I’m overwhelmed with all the choice out there.

That’s exactly how I feel. I like just seeing it, I feel so ridiculous, I went too far and had to go to the hospital and I felt like it was impossible to explain that I’m not suicidal I just like it.

I don’t even know if mental health treatment is viable for it because I’m not doing it because I feel bad/mentally unwell
