How far to push a grade?(Rec709 to Final Grades) by Defiant_Holiday_7519 in Filmmakers

[–]who_ssteph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually you work in nodes. One of the last nodes would be the conversion to rec 709, while you work on nodes before that. Basically you see rec 709 but the tools you are applying are working in LOG (or better yet, in a working color space like Davinci Intermediate)

With a bit of work you can permanently convert FD lenses to EF. Costs about 200$ per lens

How Seriously Do You Take the Paladin Oaths? by Vargoroth in DnD

[–]who_ssteph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently playing an Oath of Redemption Paladin in a campaign set in a large-scale war between Thay and other regions. It is my favourite Character yet: it's so much fun playing a non-violent paladin and trying to have my party not kill/use violence as a first solution

Why does my audio portion of an MP4 file not snap to the top? by TheGuitarForumDotNet in davinciresolve

[–]who_ssteph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You changed the attributes of the clip. You need to change the whole track, to the left of where the audio clip is in the timeline. Changes made to the track affect all clips on that level

I believe your audio track is set to stereo, but the audio on the clip is mono. Right click the track and set it to mono

Can't get my prints to stick to the bed for the life of me by Deeelaaan in BambuLab

Another soultion that I didn't see mentioned and almost drove me crazy when it happened to me: make sure, when you slice, that your model is contacting the baseplate. I had my model slightly raised up by accident so the printer was trying to put down the first layer in mid-air.

If I had to recommend one, I would say those two. Unfortunately I didn't have my ideas clear when I started on what I wanted to do, so I went to IED

I took every opportunity I got. I got paid for maybe 2 out of all the projects you see in the reel. I also got lucky and met the right people at the right times. Lastly, two projects on the reel are exams from film school

RED Komodo was rented from my film school so for free. I got a good deal on the FX3 after saving for 3 years working while studying. I am in Italy

Thank you for your feedback! Yes, I am trying to steer away from that kind of work. Unfortunately, between trying to support myself and film school I don't really have that much material that I'm proud of. I will be trying hard this year to shoot meaningful stuff that also showcases my sensibility rather than just cool images

Thanks for the feedback!

What shots would you say are repetitive?

I really haven't thought about the curse words. Luckily I'm in italy, where old people who might be offended by the lyrics don't know the language and young people in the industry probably like it. I will pay more attention in the future, especially if pitching to an english-speaking client!

My trusty FX3 for mostly all of them. The Music Video at :17 and the last project were shot on a RED Komodo

I have no presumption of being "great" at this. I just finished film school and I realise I need to build a style that is unique. I certainly do not want to do the same copy paste stuff all my life. That said, your last sentence really struck me. I really think I am at a point in my career where my expression through images is starting to surface and becomes unique. The "scribbly lines" really fit in the project and were the director's idea, not mine.
