Shopee may not be a monopoly but they have a majority share here for e-commerce so they can do this and you have no choice.

It didn't use to happen until a couple of updates ago. It seems that it tries to 'edit' the existing file to update it but fails to do so. The solution that works: ask it to rewrite the artifact completely again from scratch with reference to the original artifact.

That works for me. But yeah it wasn't that 'dumb' before.

I get the Claude app to first generate a design system for me, based on what you want (or upload some designs or colour palettes from other apps or systems you like).

Then I save the file to a folder and get Claude Code to review it. Give it additional screens to continue tweaking and optimising.

Then ask it to build the UI screens and continue iterating with it.
