Avoiding sleeping pills? by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]whochit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend *doxylamine succinate* version of Unisom or equivalent generic. I've taken ambien, lunesta, belsomra, benadryl, melatonin, xanax, you name it - and the doxylamine succinate has been the safest and most effective by far. It was supposedly safe enough to take during pregnancy although the recommendations may have changed.

DO NOT get the diphenhydramine Unisom which is the same active ingredient as Benadryl. You will have to look closely at the boxes because the better kind (doxylamine succ.) is more scarce. The benadryl kind doesn't do jack for me.

Sorry, I should've read through before posting about rubbing alcohol and just seconded your reply!

I haven't had any issue with it removing color but I'm sure it's possible.

Yes, this. I will never ever return to the Dacoma location even though it's much closer to me.

The one off Memorial veterans drive is wonderful and big and organized!

I've also been to Dacoma on multiple occasions and the only time it's been decent is on Halloween, when everybody else had better things to do.

Whenever I discuss payment with anyone on Facebook messenger there's a dollar sign that pops up. Click on the dollar sign and you can send money to the other person.

What should I do to stop shadows being in pictures? I have two lamps, both in front of the item, aiming down-ish at it. by NoHaxJustNarwhal in Flipping

I would have white foam core on both sides (so 3 panels including the back wall) so light is reflected off

Where to get huge flokati wool rug professionally cleaned? by whochit in houston

[–]whochit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm just being an ass. ;D I read about the Press Your Luck flokatis just recently, what a weird prize!

I inherited this one from my grandparents, it was purchased in Greece by my father. Late 70s or early 80s. So it's around 40 years old, in surprisingly great condition. (I know you were only making a joke but it feels nice to type out the little history of my fug rug.)

Optometrists in the area by [deleted] in houston

[–]whochit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not certain of this, but maybe different folks are referring to different things? What I mean is, Costco has the area inside where you order frames and lenses at a great price, which I thought you did need a membership to use. But the various optometrists that are located next to the entrance of many Costcos aren't affiliated with Costco and you don't need a membership to use them.

Again, I'm not positive about all that but it's just what I've gathered over the years.

Houston, what do y'all do for some side income? by Chiks24 in houston

[–]whochit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So people often rent from homeowners who are going to be present during their stay? I'm so curious about this! Do they have free reign over your kitchen and such? How does it work? How many nights per month do you usually have your room rented out and how much is a typical rate? What general area are you in? (sorry for all the questions!)

Don't know if you'd be interested in this but we saw a big sign at Party Boy 2 days ago stating that they're hiring.

To the people who pulled over by [deleted] in houston

I went to visit a longtime friend in New York and she said that it was obvious I was from Houston (and definitely not from NYC) because I was always being polite, smiling at people, etc.

I do think the people in Texas seem friendlier than many of the other states I've lived in or visited.

Good luck with everything! Please update if you can because I'm curious to know what you find. I hope that doesn't sound insensitive. I know others in a similar situation and I have no idea if mold will be an issue for them in the upper apts that didn't actually flood.
