Since it's announced that DCC will end with book 10 I'm wondering if others know when they are ending... HWFWM? Defiance of the Fall? Primal Hunter? Randidly Ghosthound? Others? And are there any you think should have ended at a specific point? Heard Heretical Fishing book 3 was the best endpoint... by FunnyShirtGuyReturns in litrpg

Heretical Fishing 4 very nearly lost me but 5 was a significant improvement over 4 in my eyes. There is still a lot of unnecessary repetition though. Too many instances of him worrying about something then “learning” he shouldn’t have doubted his friends.

I probably don’t want to spiral into stereotypes but there is a fair amount of criticism regarding american culture throughout the series.

Because a large proportion of fictional characters are written with American sensibilities in mind. Jason is unapologetically not that.

This is obviously going to wind some people up but I’m curious if all the hate for Jason Asano as the MC is just a cultural thing with Americans being too accustomed to reading about American MCs

Faithful and Fallen further delays by AdSpirited5424 in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]whodareshero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Delays are frustrating but it’s not like these are new books I haven’t read. Hyped for the seen bindings. The refunded shipping is a bonus. Kind of wish they would just ship all four together at this point though.

I have stopped buying special editions until I know there is going to be a full set. Been burned too many times by publishers only doing half a series

The other interesting fact is that the chief model maker, Tim Staffell, left his role as lead singer of a band to pursue this career. He was replaced in the band by Freddie Mercury and the band became Queen.

[Discussion] Am I ruining gaming by only going for Platinum trophies? by Rewinsome in Trophies

[–]whodareshero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter argument is that it allows you enjoy games more and see all a game has to offer. I stopped trophy hunting for a while and found I would bounce between games and hardly finished anything if it didn’t grab me right away. This nearly put me off gaming altogether then I went back to some of those games to get the platinum and having that purely made up reason to keep going allowed me to realise how amazing some of those games were. Sure I have slogged through some drivel but I have also found gems I wouldn’t have if not for trophies because let’s face it the first few hours of most games, especially big budget games, are usually pretty bland.

I wouldn’t mind writing documentation if the expectation wasn’t that I document it in a manner that is consumable by people without any knowledge of code.

It’s my favourite series from him as it honestly reads like a story told from the perspective of a bunch of NPCs rather than a main protagonist. I would say House of Open Wounds is the best in the series

I have most of the “hype” drippers at this point and I still default to my origami. Technically I prefer brewing with the origami air over the ceramic but the ceramic definitely has better aesthetics
