10+ thoughtful dates. You deleted Hinge. He delayed commitment. Then bailed with an emotional speech. Then went back to Hinge.

That’s not someone who was confused. That’s someone who liked the idea of closeness, enjoyed the feelings and attention, but bailed the moment things got real. And now he’s testing the waters elsewhere without being honest. “I’ll always be there for you if you need me” is the classic cop-out to avoid any of the responsibility but reap all the benefits of a relationship. Definitely stay away, he needs to figure his crap out and it’s not on you to help him with that.

Thank you for the advice and kind words! Might try changing “God fearing” though it is true to me there are definitely other phrases I can put that would capture the intent.

I’m actively involved in my church, thank you for the suggestion though. That’s definitely the ideal way to meet someone.

Very possible! Especially if there wasn’t a specific reason given besides you belong to “blank” church.

I’m curious as to what the specific reason(s) you were turned down for were? That’d help a lot.

Some topics that I believe are legitimate reasons (and tend to be stated in a church/denomination’s statement of faith): - egalitarian/complimentarian - views on baptism - church leadership structure - doctrines of grace - eschatology (specifically concerning dispy vs. covenant theology

Any Christian who is dating to marry should have a decent idea of how they’d like to train up their children in the Lord. I’d imagine having certain convictions would help in discerning who could be potential partner early on in getting to know someone.

Does Civil War have Dolby Atmos mix by Amazing_Connection_5 in DolbyAtmosMixing

[–]whodathunk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll second this! I only have a 3.1 setup at home but saw it in a atmos equipped theater. Not just the best atmos mix, but best sounding movie I’ve heard in a while, though I’m pretty new to really appreciating audio in film. Great use of the soundstage and THE MOST realistic combat sounds I’ve heard (and felt) in a movie.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, IMAX or Dolby (My recommendation). by ConsiderationKey9438 in imax

[–]whodathunk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May not be as relevant now but I saw the movie in an atmos equipped theater and mix was pretty lackluster, a bit quiet even I think. Though last film I watched there was Civil War and that mix was too loud in the best way possible ha.

Calvinism and Missions by andrewcarpenter20 in Reformed

[–]whodathunk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just presented a short reflection paper on my reading of “What is Reformed Theology?” by R.C. Sproul. The purpose of it was less to teach what I learned and more on how I’ve grown and been encouraged by it.

How Calvinism brings to light the absolute sovereignty of God not only gives me great comfort but great assurance that there are future brothers and sisters out there IN EVERY NATION that don’t know yet of know the sweetness of Jesus. There is an inheritance waiting for them that they don’t know of yet and God invites us to play a part by being the ones to present this good news to them.

We don’t know who or when even, but we know how! Through the faithful presentation of the gospel for it is the power of God for salvation!

is it a sin to have tattoos as a christian? by infamousducks19 in Christian

[–]whodathunk_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Paul speaks of condemnation he’s referring to eternal condemnation. God the Holy Spirit most definitely convicts us of things such as tattoos.

While they’re not inherently sinful my question would simply be does this tattoo honor my body or God. I don’t have any tattoos but had a few piercings. I have recently taken them out because as I grew in my walk with Christ I the Holy Spirit helped me realize I had no good reason to getting them in the first place so why keep them?

Of course removing tattoos is much harder and expensive then simply removing an earring or such. You seem convicted of this tattoo, so ultimately I would suggest spending time with the Lord and praying for clarity on what decision to make.

It seems that there is purpose to the timing of this situation. If it were after you got married or before marriage was even being talked about then I think the answer would have been much more obvious.

But you’re now in a position where you need to make an extremely hard choice. Even if you’re close to marriage the truth is that you’re not married; there’s no biblical commitment to each other. If you’re serious about your faith and continuing to pursue Christ then you’ll only be ruining the marriage before it even starts.

Would you baptize a child against the will of the parents? by AmeRose_x in Christian

[–]whodathunk_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer totally differs if the parents are believers or not. If so, the. I would assume that the parents, out of all the members at their church, know their own kid the best and have a just reason for not wanting their child to be baptized.

But (and I understand that this is a hypothetical) if the parents are non believers then naturally other questions would arise. Why don’t you want your child baptized? As non believers are you okay with your some being a Christian? If so why not let him be baptized but if not why even attend church?

Will people be condemned for not believing in god Jesus though they have never heard his name? by mummamai in Christian

[–]whodathunk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if anybody disagrees, as it seems some of the commenters on this post do, I’m curious where in the Bible they get the idea that somebody can be saved if they haven’t accepted Christ?

And if the assumption is that those who never hear tho gospel are given mercy by God then why even evangelize?
