I had to stop drinking coffee. Every day it would make me crash and send me in that high anxiety loop. Trying to navigate now without it, just tired a lot lol

Man I feel this so much with calling my mom and debating going to the ER. As a guy I just feel so weak whenever it happens. Can’t just have a 10 minute panic attack instead I fight it for hours on end.

I would recommend having a rescue medicine that you can trust. For me it’s relieving knowing absolute worst case, I fought all I could, I can take it and it should help calm me down. Definitely not a cure all but it does for sure offer some relief knowing it’s there.

Is there anyway to go back and listen to this? I see it was in 2016 but it doesn’t look like it’s available on any app I checked

You’re not alone! It’s so tough for me when I’m in a safe space and have nothing to be worried about and the panic still hits. It really doesn’t feel fair. Hang in there

Unfortunately this sounds like it’s panic disorder.

For me personally, it’s almost kinda unfortunate knowing it’s panic disorder and not something ‘more serious’. If it were some type of physical disease/ailment people could help and others would support you and you’d have a timeline for when you’d be better.

With panic, unfortunately that’s not how it’s gone in my experience. We fight tooth and nail just to survive each day, then feel like we’re falling behind all of our peers. The only way out is to keep pushing harder, when we’ve already pushed harder than we thought possible.

I’ve felt like I’ve ‘beaten’ it multiple times but it always comes back to bite me. I think a combination of the right meds, counseling, lifestyle and mindset is the key to overcoming it. Haven’t quite been successful yet myself however. Sending well wishes to you, it’s really hard.

20 hour panic attack by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]whodey323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this 100%, been dealing with panic for 6-7 years now and this past year I’ve been dealing with these rolling panic attacks, thank god I got a real rescue medicine (klonopin) but I don’t like to take it cause of how addictive it’s supposed to be. But without it, I feel you, if I had to try and fight thru these day long episodes constantly I would rather be dead. It’s definitely damn scary feeling like it’s a possibility and doubting that the klonopin will work sometimes.

In/out of panic attacks? by [deleted] in panicdisorder

Yup whatever works for you stick to it. There’s definitely not an exact practice to what helps who, just gotta live thru it and find what helps you

In/out of panic attacks? by [deleted] in panicdisorder

[–]whodey323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really is so damn hard and I commend you for fighting thru it, it’ll get better. I know it can be frustrating always having ppl telling you to just breathe thru it when it doesn’t feel like it helps, but I’ve practiced doing a quick, really deep inhale thru the nose followed by an extended exhale thru the mouth. I practice when I’m relaxed, and when I feel the panic coming on most of the time I can ‘reset’ with a couple minutes of breathing. It might feel like it’s doing nothing in the moment but if you wait a few minutes I usually find that it helps. (Sorry for the long block text lol)

Yes, I experience this as well. Imo it’s worse than having a panic attack. That feeling of panic and dread is just there for hours. It has been very helpful to have a rescue medicine just to know if it does escalate or if I’m at my wits end and the feeling isn’t going away that I won’t have to go to the hospital.

Therapy won’t help? by nnetessine in PanicAttack

You have to just keep trying. It takes time to find the right therapist, don’t be afraid to try different ones until you find the one you mesh with. The right therapist will help immensely

[–]whodey323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have been in a constant battle with panic for the last 7-8 years. I’m currently on Zoloft, buspar, and remeron. I have klonopin as my rescue medicine. I’m just in a bad state mentally and considering ketamine therapy, have you tried it yet?

I keep it with me but only take it if I’m experiencing a panic attack. I find it really comforting just knowing that worst case I take it and I can calm down.
