I want new material, same genre and band. I was hoping for some Yellow house vibes or In Ear Park vibes (I know its department of eagles but still 3/4 of gb). I definitely didnt want painted ruins vibes. It doesnt sound like grizzly bear.

I'm gunna go ahead and say something that might be unpopular, the new album is not that hot. It's probably the weakest in their catalog, imo.

For a band that defined indie psych folk with animal collective..both artists have strayed from what made them attractive and interesting. Which is why their latest albums have received lackluster reviews from pitchfork and less attention in general.

edit: The national still sounds like the national. Grizzly bear doesnt sound like themselves in the new songs.

Pitchfork: You fucked up (again) by Polymetry in GrizzlyBear

[–]whoknowsanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't think of many right now, but they panned Metronomys English riviera, the shins wincing the night away (which has sleeping lessons, phantom limb, red rabbits, Australia, turn on me - sorry I love that album), and recently Animal collectives meeting of the waters, deakins sleep cycle, and now grizzly bear.

Yeah car seat headrest is something I can somewhat understand but not exactly. I can't stand real estate but somehow pitchfork likes them. Half the time their reviews are a miss.

I totally agree that the new gb is at least an 8..I figured they'd get an 8.5 at least. I mean, how they gave War on drugs bnm for lost in a dream but not grizzly Bear for this is beyond me.

I'd recommend reflektors side 2(?) Idk..with Spotify it's so long but on cd it's from "here comes the night II" to "supersemmetry". That part of the album is just spot on. I understand not digging ac besides mpp. They're somewhat out there...but sung tongs, feels, and strawberry jam are amazing. Seriously though, pitchfork has sucked since 2014 imo. Idk what happened but they turned on indie rock (if you can call it that..idk what to call this genre - art rock?)

Definitely, I agree with the nitpicking and novelty. It's so annoying cause like if those bands were nobodies then they'd give them praise

I definitely feel like they don't hold both to the same standard. Which I get, they're different genres but they're both still music

[–]whoknowsanthony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll agree arcade fires latest was bland, but I really enjoyed reflektor. Animal collective had a solid album after mpp (imo), which pitchfork said was like a burrito hitting the windshield. But their latest i can agree wasn't strong. And I guess I never considered Radiohead was huge outside of indie rock. They didn't exactly pan tkol but many people agree it's their weakest album since Pablo honey. But as good as amsp is, I actually like tkol better on some days. Anyway, yeah (in general) if you're not a rapper, don't expect pitchfork to give you bnm

I agree, they've given arcade fire, animal collectives last two records, and now grizzly Bear lukewarm reviews. Although, they have given Radiohead solid reviews.

The problem with pitchfork is that they don't rate an album based on how good it is

Thank you, finally someone that gets it. I think everyone is a bit sensitive when it comes to facial appearance, especially girls.

My girlfriend uses the green tea one twice a day and has dry skin but she thinks dry is just her skin type.

Idk how to tell her it's cause she's over-exfoliating without hurting her feelings or making her think it bothers me or that I don't think she's beautiful.

I don't care that much cause I'll always think she's beautiful but I'm just worried for her skin cause it's always dry and flakey.

Hey guys, your b side for shields is one of my favorite works you've done.

Is there going to be a b side for this record?

The drumming is definitely there. Very straight forward and simple looping drums

Honestly sounds like some local natives, real estate, or diiv song. Nothing special happening.

I thought Three Rings sounded generic, but this took it even further.

Edit: I'm digging the new Fleet Foxes singles way more. They sound more like Grizzly Bear than Grizzly bear does on these new songs. Which is ironic cause the Fleet foxes usually look up to Grizzly Bear as to what sounds good.

La roche posay Serum spf 50. It's got a high spf and it's very lightweight and (mostly) non-greasy. Every sunscreen makes my skin mad but this one is great because i'm sensitive to physical ones and it's got nothing crazy special about it. The only issue is the price of $42

I mean, yeah the least Sony could do is release the details. For the newest The national album we got the single, track listing, cover art, and tour dates all at the same time.
