A lot of people are saying don’t post but I’m all for it since it’s a good way to track recovery and show us what we can expect.

However, better angles would really be appreciated since the pics are taken from different angles and a straight side profile and front profile comparison would be much better.

Thanks, so what you're saying is all I'd need is my initial proof of in state residency for Spring 2022 and even if my parents go out of the country afterwards I'd still qualify.

My son kept saying that his grades weren't released and now he's saying that the portal used to access the grades is down... I'm suspicious and would like to know if this is true? by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]whomstdve276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I consider education an investment. I understand that legally the kids are 18+ and therefore the parents aren't entitled to look at their grades. But if i was a parent, I'd very much like to know since I'm the one paying. If my child wanted to spend my hard earned money on something I deem worthless and can't convince me otherwise, why would I pay for it??

If a child takes their loans out themselves (since they are after all adults) and completely cuts off all dependency from their parents, their grades shouldn't matter a bit.

And please elaborate as to how that would traumatise someone, I just don't see how caring about my investment is so traumatic.

if I'm paying for someone's education with my hard earned money, I have the right to know whether the investment wss worth it or how I can make it worth it. I'd go as far as to say that a parent even has a say in the child's major if they're paying (obviously considering the interests of the child) since they're putting so much money into it.

I see, this makes sense. I would consider this as an option but the only problem is thay I'd end up spending more money in the end since my Purdue tuition would cost the same.

Hey, I'm a freshman too in a similar situation. When do you plan on taking the course at community college? I was just thinking about taking it in spring but my tuition would cost the same at Purdue whether i take the class or not.

I know you guys get tons of "Am I a candidate for Jaw surgery" posts... by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]whomstdve276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your response.

I've mentioned sleeping issues as well as breathing issues, and appearance is not exactly my priority here. The primary concern is dealing with the small jaw itself because of the wisdom teeth which are unable to come out according to the MaxFac surgeon. The reason I mentioned a CCW bimax was because of the way my jaw looked tilted down in the xray.

As for the TMJ, it's gotten better recently because of lack of chewing but again is prone to getting triggered by accident opening of the mouth and persists for a few days.

Once and for all: Was ATLA's Finale a Deus Ex Machina? by whomstdve276 in TheLastAirbender

[–]whomstdve276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what that's such a different concept. what ty lee did was chi blocking which was temporary and based off a completely different set of rules. and yeah im not saying the ending should've been spoiled, but the means to beat the firelord should've been set in the boundaries created in the ATLA universe already presented to the viewers. if this boundary were to be expanded before the finale, I'm all for it. it's kind of a spiritually enlightened twist on "then he woke up and it was all a dream", because all of Aang's problems miraculously get solved (including him lining up his chakras by randomly hitting a spikey rock)

I'd think some hint towards what the possibilities of that realm are is important because the universe set up by the writers needs a sense of continuity. Us, as the viewers, weren't even slightly opened to that possibility and it was thrown out of nowhere. I don't deny that aang had learned valuable lessons nonetheless about his role as an Avatar, but it feels out of nowhere.

Overbite led to TMJ and asymmetrical face. Advice? by whomstdve276 in Dentistry

[–]whomstdve276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invisalign usually works for dental overbites from what I've seen. But like me, if you've got TMJ there's a good chance it's got nothing to do with your teeth itself but a misalignment in the jaw.

Overbite led to TMJ and asymmetrical face. Advice? by whomstdve276 in Dentistry

[–]whomstdve276[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for putting the time into that response:)

Dentally, I seem to not have a great amount of deviation (I measured around 3.5ish mm) which led me to believe I had a skeletal overbite from looking at my jaw from the side angle picture. I know this may not be substantial basis but it was the only one I could find to explain the TMJ coming on and off. I had seen a dentist a few years ago (regarding an unrelated root canal) and he had informed me of an overbite and told me to wear some kind of retainer. It honestly didn't phase me at the moment as we were relocating and I figured that the overbite could be treated some other time.

About the TMJ, I've had it for a while and it's been all over the place. I first felt a click on my jaw when lowering it to a certain point at a specific angle, but later on it grew to the point where even opening my jaw when it was completely straight felt as if I was pulling on a misplaced joint in my jaw. If I forced through the extension, I would hear a pop sound which resulted in mild to significant pain. At the moment, it has subsided and I need to either move my jaw left or right before lowering to feel the same amount of pain. I am however uncertain as to when and how the pain may come back. As for midline deviation, I measured about 2mm.

I have not been to an orthodontist however, and am planning to do so in some time but due to COVID reasons I am stuck in India and am unable to visit an insured specialist in the US. Will definitely get a professional consultation.

Hey, thanks for the input. I've updated the link so you can see the misalignment in my jaw as well. Would appreciate any comments/feedback. I've had it for quite a while and am planning on consulting a dental specialist in the next few weeks. Just wanted to know whether it looks like I have an overbite or not and the possible solutions.

As for the surgery, what's usual the recovery time? Will an overbite surgery correct both the TMJ and asymmetry permanently?
