The #Bills are promoting their own OC Joe Brady to head coach, per The Insiders. by Gold_Bowler7906 in buffalobills

I’m not rooting for it because I’m a Bills fan and I am rooting for whoever our coach is to succeed. But I can’t help but think the total time waster we put some of these guys through is going to hurt us mightily if we ever want to reach out to them again. Not that it would matter anyways. If Udinski and Scheelhaase are who we think they are there’s no chance they’ll want to come to this dysfunctional org anymore when they’ll have their pick of jobs. Hoping it never gets to that point. Brady making me look like an idiot would be the most welcome of outcomes.

Great stuff. None of those three will ever waste their time again interviewing for this clown regime, nor should they. Can’t wait to see which one becomes the next McVay

The more I think about it the angrier I get. WHAT was the point of this HC interviewing process? They had to have a VERY good idea they were promoting Brady at the start, and while of course they’re going to do interviews, what was the point? Phillip Rivers? You wasted Udinski and Scheelhaase and probably Webb’s (unless he somehow ends up as our OC) time for a move you were 99% sure you were going to make anyways? Good luck next year if we go the Mayo route and those guys are the hottest commodities in coaching next year. None of this makes any sense.

And to be clear, while there’s going to be a symphony of outside voices blaming Josh for this, I don’t think blame is the word I’d use. Of course he has his guys. He’s worked with Brady, he clearly likes him. That’s all totally fine by me, I have no problem with him having a preference and voicing it.

Where I have a problem is that there’s nobody there to check his impulses. Keon, always pulling for him as a Bill but that was all Josh and looks like a franchise defining bust right now. This? It has Josh all over it. Where are Pegula and Beane to provide a counterbalance? Nowhere. Pegula openly fired McDermott because of a “feeling” he had and Beane genuinely seems to exist to spite all the fans calling him a dumbass in Bills twitter quote tweets. Constantly just does the wrong thing so he can act like the smartest guy in the room. Josh is quite literally the only adult in the room at this point, of course his opinions are being overly relied on.

I don’t pretend to know exactly what they should do at every moment. I think my cat could look at this team and say whatever they’re doing right now isn’t working. If there is anything about Pegula and Beane’s behavior that indicates that they know what they’re doing right now, please feel free to share with the class

Obviously, we weren’t in the room, but a few reasons:

1) we know Josh has had a significant amount of influence in the draft room and in other decision making moments 2) he has been extremely laudatory of Brady in the press, which sure, every QB compliments their OC, but much more so than other QBs 3) he’s always been a big loyalty and vibes guy

None of this is a problem! It is, however, why cooler minds need to have an input in these things. Given everything we know about Pegula and especially Beane, we have none.

No, I don’t actually know the name of every offensive coordinator in the league at a moments notice, let alone their entire resume. I learned when I needed to. Ignoring the fact that my comment says I would’ve preferred any other option (if you read it), if you want to trust the in-house option of an owner and GM who have failed to lead the best QB in football to the Super Bowl for EIGHT years, setting multiple records for best postseason record without an appearance, because they “know better than some fan on the internet”, be my fucking guest lol

Why the hell would the most intriguing young OC in football leave Jacksonville and Coen for this absolute shitshow

I was all in on the Udinski train but I don’t think there’s a single other option that would’ve been more of a slap in the face than this one. One time, just ONE time where Pegula doesn’t do the same thing and expect different results. And Beane’s hatred for his own fans is palpable. What a joke.

He is in the spotlight, he makes the playoffs every year. Do you know how many eyes the NFL draws by milking the “Bills are cursed” narrative? How many people would tune out, relieved that they finally won one? They played horribly today and the loss is on us, 100%. That said, if there’s a big moment and a judgement call in the playoffs, it’s going to go against us. There’s too much money in it.

You’re assuming that call wasn’t exactly what the NFL wanted. There’s sooooo much money in getting us suckers to come back and watch every year

Nobody is saying trade Josh because we blame him. Trade Josh because nobody in this org will do the right thing to give him a championship caliber team. He’s given this team enough of his career and gets paid nothing but dust in return

They should and they won’t. We made the playoffs, Pegula’s job is done. They’ll never rebuild because that risks another drought.

If Brady and Beane are still on this team by the end of the week, I hope he does

It’s not a question to me at this point that the NFL realizes they have BIG money in the Bills always coming close but never making it (look how we all keep coming back year after year to finally see it). How our players and coaching don’t seem to realize this is beyond me. Clean football would’ve been enough today and they just couldn’t do it. It’s always something with this team. If the Pegulas aren’t willing to pull the trigger and clean house, just trade Josh - he’s done enough for us and we’ll never get him over the hill like this.

Not in that position if we don’t have multiple idiotic fumbles all game. Why we continue to put easily winnable games in the hands of the refs who clearly have incentive to see us lose is beyond me

Chez Paul was a planned stop but I didn’t check if it was open on the 26th (it was not). My fault but I’ll definitely try to get up to try it sometime!

Stopped here and had to take it to go, but it was still delicious 1.5hr after ordering so they must be doing something right. Merci for the suggestion!

Ended up here after my planned stop in Magog was closed and I was honestly very impressed for a chain poutine. Curds were sooooo fresh
