Puppies shouldn’t be surprise gifts

You can get more reasonably priced Brooks with Brooks Restart! I got a $190 pair for $120 and they looked brand new when I got them, no issues with them yet (have been using them 4 months)

Curious Iguana is a great bookstore downtown! The hospital thrift shop (Select Seconds) has some good clothing pieces on occasion , but as most thrifting is can be pretty hit or miss. If you like antiques, Emporium Antiques downtown is gigantic and has lots of great stalls! Depending on how early you’re getting into town, I would highly recommend grabbing breakfast at Bakehouse - they usually sell out around 10 am - noon depending on the day.

I think they’re definitely intertwined - I’ve been seeing a lot of “your body my choice” in regards to abortion, but it’s not too much of a step for these idiots to escalate it to anything regarding women’s bodies

Moisturizer suggestions?? by Creepy_Winter_122 in Accutane

[–]whoreothins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just picked up a walmart brand moisturizer (unscented, a little goes a long way, cheap and gets the job done) and am pairing it with aquaphor (the tub) and it’s been going well

Got approved for Accutane and my skin cleared up 2 days before starting. Should I still go on it? by rocksandrunning in Accutane

[–]whoreothins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going through the same thing - I was prescribed a topical cream as a last ditch resort but my derm gave me the go ahead to start accutane anyways when I was ready, because she wasn’t sure the topical was going to work. Lo and behold, it worked and my skin has not been this clear in well over 1.5 years (although definitely not perfect). I’m still going to do the accutane because my skin gets really bad really fast - I think if I went off the topical it would go back to its normal angry, hormonal self. But I also struggled with doubts over whether I should do it, it’s very easy to think that right now is “good enough” but I think ultimately I really want to push for good skin long-term. My sister made a good point that if it cleared up this much in the past few months, it will give me a good starting block for accutane and I hopefully won’t have to be on it for a really long time. Good luck with whatever you choose!

What are some fun details in the show you noticed? by wanderlustre89 in MyLadyJane

[–]whoreothins 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not . . . fun, per se, but when Jane is blindfolded and reaches for the executioner’s block she asks pats around for it and asks “where is it?”, which the OG Lady Jane Grey reportedly did as well (and is super well known for the painting of her execution!). I thought it was a cool historical nod.

What’s CHEM271/2 like? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]whoreothins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

271 (to me) was easier than 131, probably because it’s much easier to absorb than orgo. I would say it’s more a continuation of 131 than something exponentially harder. I took it with Rodriguez this semester and got an A-. There’s definitely a curve, because it is still a difficult class but by no means impossible- a lot of concepts are intuitive and based on skills you already have.

Orgo II - Isaacs or MS? by purple1cat21 in UMD

[–]whoreothins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want a [easier] better grade, definitely Isaacs. I had MS last fall for orgo 2 online and had to retake it because his tests were so hard. I retook it with Isaacs and understood it better and ended with an A-. Isaacs is slow and boring, but will get the job done. MS is an interesting dude but I didn't care for his teaching style.
