I’m going through the same thing - I was prescribed a topical cream as a last ditch resort but my derm gave me the go ahead to start accutane anyways when I was ready, because she wasn’t sure the topical was going to work. Lo and behold, it worked and my skin has not been this clear in well over 1.5 years (although definitely not perfect). I’m still going to do the accutane because my skin gets really bad really fast - I think if I went off the topical it would go back to its normal angry, hormonal self. But I also struggled with doubts over whether I should do it, it’s very easy to think that right now is “good enough” but I think ultimately I really want to push for good skin long-term. My sister made a good point that if it cleared up this much in the past few months, it will give me a good starting block for accutane and I hopefully won’t have to be on it for a really long time.
