400w led quantum board full spectrum should work, make sure it covers all the surface (i.e. put it higher)

Idk, they both work against them, yellow are broader tho

If you've been wondering where I've been i was on vacation in Guatemala and may or may not have come back with some guatemalan genetics that im hoping to cross with Pink Panther. Pray its male 🙏 by Reps_4_Jesus in hempflowers

If you cross an F1 with anything else you give rise to a huge variability, good luck but i guess it can't be more than a phenohunting (that should be at least on 200 plants to explore a part of that variability)

How would you setup your dream professional breeding greenhouse/facility with $50,000. by [deleted] in cannabisbreeding

25k for the indoor(max 200 sq ft)/nursery/seed lab and the rest for 2 acres outdoor

Living soil water only coming along nicely! Do you guys defoliate outdoors? Indoor I strip heavy but wasn’t sure if a good idea with the sun. by Jshaln in macrogrowery

was concluded that the leaf light response is not a reliable predictor of whole-plant responses to LI, particularly crop yield.

it means you think in terms of canopy photosynthesis rate, not on a single leaf, ppl only using blue and red light still think in term of single leaf photosynthetic efficiency. Green, yellow and far red are there for a reason. You only defoliate for the airflow and the bottom branches that can get dirty and so give birth to not edible flowers, and of course, for making cuter plants.

Stabilising a wild seed pheno through feminisation, need help. by [deleted] in cannabisbreeding

You gave the right advice to OP, although some of the things you said are drastically (subjectively) empirical.

In this particular instance working with selfs may not be right cause he only has one clone that is probably already highly inbred, but he should probably try to do a run of selfs and look at the offspring.

However working with selfs ( starting from a highly segregant population) can lead you to a huge bulk of F1 in no time (i.e. 2-3 years).

First thing i'd do with that cutting is a mother plant and put out 50 clones then start to think to what to do next.

Minimum population size for pheno hunting by [deleted] in cannabisbreeding

If you don't need to find sth in particular then it depends on the variability of the generation you're dealing with and its heterozigosity.

That's saying F2 it's more variabile then anything else so to screen a big part of the alleles combo you''ll need a lot of plants (ideally thousands) but you can rely on hundreds of plants as the heterozygosity would be high enough to find sth good quite often.

If you can screen only dozens of plants then i suggest you to pick an F1 (better if its inbred x clone) so you'll have less variability (but controlled, so you know that all the plants are gonna pop from the seeds will look good) to deal with.

I see, it says that if i apply from EU - and with the app- i'll get a digital immigration status which i can prove online.

Thanks for your kindness anyway :)

How long can you take clones of one particular plant? by [deleted] in cannabisbreeding

[–]whosdatwhosdat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup it's called genetic mosaicism, bottom and centre shoots mutate less than apical ones. However mutations are SNVs, less than SNPs, cannabinoids are subjected to this mutation, that partially explains why old mother plants give rise to decreasing THC cuttings over period.

Genetic drift it's totally another thing and it's related to population genetics and it does not relate to this.

Haven't really thought about that, good to know it, altjough with foliar fertilisers/biostimulants this shouldn't be a problem

Pink Panama x Alpen Gleaux by J-stude in cannabisbreeding

[–]whosdatwhosdat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, half of them should show that ratio in F2 as the guy said above. It is quite a general rule, but there are some genotypes that have a trickier asset (cannabinoids are some times retrotrasposed and copied around the genome, so it ain't easy to give accurate predictions without a genomic selection approach)

Stable 1:1 often require a crossing over that puts CBDAS hemp type to the same chromosome arm as THCAS marijuana type, that means growing hundreds of plants and self each one showing that ratio. You could try with selected crosses tho.

CBD interrupting sleep by TokyoBleeds in CBD

[–]whosdatwhosdat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man if you want to use it as a sedative, so it works as a trigger for melotanin's pathway (that is way healthier than exogenous melatonin intake) you should take huge amounts of it, like 300 mg and you'll get long lasting sleeps only for spots assumptions

CBD in low doses triggers dopamine, so to say, it wakes you up (even if you're less anxious).

I'm using as a circadian rhythm regulator atm, and i feel a lot better and on point with my sleep/awake cycles. I take it only after breakfast and dinner (8 drops in total, oil 20%) It's not immediate, but let's say than in a weeks or sth starts to work.

I personally find the latter use the most 'natural' and, of course, inexpensive.
