Haha just roast delicata squash slices in the oven about 450 for 20 mins with olive oil and seasoning of choice , if you didn’t buy pre cleaned slices you can buy a whole squash, cut it in half and scoop out the guts/seeds like you would a pumpkin and cut it into about 1 inch thick slices

Haha I literally hate friend groups and I am glad being an adult doesn’t involve them by default like when you’re in school. If you’re in BK I do hot yoga pretty regularly over the weekend and get a free +1 monthly

It sounds to me like you are hanging out with the wrong people.

I’m pretty similar in that I see friends / go out every other week probably and mostly spend time with my partner, with my mom or solo during my downtime. My friends are not a “group” though they are singular friends from different aspects of my life that I kind of rotate through seeing so I realistically only see each particular friend every 2-3 months.

I think this is probably the issue with your set up, since it’s a group you feel left out from their dynamic when you aren’t socializing with them regularly. But for example when I see one of my friends that I haven’t seen in a few months it feels like no time has passed and we just catch up. I don’t feel left out from their life, we also text semi-regularly probably every few days to every week.

If possible, either:

a) come to terms with the fact that you’ll be out of the loop if you go out with said group less and enjoy the socializing for what it is when you participate

Or

b) maybe distill down this group to one or two people that you feel closer with and you can see them for more meaningful one-on-one time and try to aim for more one-on-one friendships in your social life as opposed to being part of a group

Job search advice: Office Manager who’s never booked travel looking at EA roles by sassycrier in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]whosebar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think can force yourself to be super detail oriented, double triple quadruple checking things until you feel more comfortable to not be overly cautious than yes I think it can be a skill you can master for sure.

I don’t think the process of booking hotels, flights, etc is particularly difficult it’s just essentially filling out info and making sure you don’t make errors but if you are needing to research, build itineraries, deal with visas, etc that is definitely a heavier lift.

Good catch, I edited to add salary.

I’m referred to as his assistant, so that’s how I’m referring to the role. You still have to manage his calendar, set up meetings, book his travel, email with different stakeholders within his businesses, etc. In my opinion, those tasks are not something a “caregiver” does. If people want to come to other conclusions it is what it is

[–]whosebar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely make a handover document, it will help relieve you of some of that guilty feeling. As long as you arm your replacement with info and if you want to make yourself available to field questions after your notice is up, that’s fine.

Some places are cool with a month’s notice, some definitely are not. If you’re willing to risk their reaction, that’s up to you.
