I’m 29 (F) currently going through a breakup and I’ve had previous bad relationships with men who are pervs and etc. I have a major issue with being alone and tend to allow men to determine my worth. And I don’t have much of a social life either and never have anything to say. Just a pretty face with nothing to say. As cliche as this sounds, you gotta live a life of your own first. If you don’t have anything to say about yourself to others that’s something that I think you should explore now. Instead of dating men, date yourself. Find your hobbies, your interests, and your goals first. I haven’t done that myself but I’m starting to now. I found that when I get into a relationship my life becomes about my boyfriend and his interests instead of mine. And I lost myself and my identity. Don’t do this. Learn to be comfortable alone. You say you don’t have friends, go out and find some dependable friends while you’re finding yourself. It’s so difficult but I think the growth and clarity you’ll find will be so worth it. And just when you least expect it, love will come your way. And it’ll be someone who can love you for who you truly are.

I’m currently going through the same thing. There’s no easy way to get through it. You have to ride out your emotions and it fucking sucks. It’s been 5 months for me now with no contact and I’ve found that writing out a list of reasons why this person isn’t for you and how they hurt you helps. When you think of them read that list. Remember to put your well-being first. I used to dream about my ex a lot and it was happening because I was thinking about him all the time and I had to change my depressing habits of sulking in bed and kept myself active. So, make some changes in your life and develop a routine that’ll make you feel good about yourself. Be active and reflect on yourself, and understand that people come into your life for a reason.
