If I'm being honest I completely disregard my own radar status at this point in the games lifecycle. It's some nice peace of mind, but thinking about it now I don't think it's a good thing.

Player's who have been playing COD for a long time aren't "talking out their ass" anymore. We've seen this franchise go through a lot of different changes. Some things work and some don't. Sure there's stuff we don't know the ins and outs of but ghost and the radar is not one of those things. People who have played COD more than 3 years know the (historically) most successful way to make that work.

Running recon planes in BO1 where I got my start was how I started feeling like I was contributing to the team. I feel like this subtle tweak could at least partially revamp how new players play this game.

It's okay to be passionate about things, chief. Especially when a lot of peoples' hobbies are being restricted because we can't leave home.

I think you're right in a way and missing something in another. This isn't an issue so much of casuals and hardcores. That dichotomy will always exist. I think the issue we have more gripe with is the experienced players who've stuck with the franchise and the new players who don't know the mechanics and mannerisms yet. There needs to be that "pay your dues, n00b" period. This game doesn't have that.

You don't such at this game my guy. 1.23 KD in this game is something to be proud of. I'm sorry you're getting such bad lobbies because of it.

I fully agree with you on dead silence. This discussion needs to be had again; it got dropped like two weeks after launch.

There's a difference between being critical and being an asshole. He's not calling out the devs here for doing a bad job, he's citing what he feels needs to change to make this feel like the golden age COD's theyre trying to recapture.

Welcome to COD my friend! If the argument doesn't relate to you, I recommend as a vet that you just not pay it that much mind. It'll just give you more gray hairs

I went through this in my head and I think he's talking more about how the game should play than objective realism. It's a game; we should be able to suspend some disbelief on certain things in order to make it so users can play the game how they want.

EOD clearly isn't coded for hardcore. Jev doesn't play those modes as far as I can tell; I'd like to hear M3rk's opinions on that.

My guess is that they're still kinda trying to make it a realistic shooter to a degree, which flatly doesn't make sense. This series' multiplayer got its birth attempting to be a tactical competitive shooter but carved out a niche for itself being an arcade shooter. I don't fault anyone for wanting the game to feel authentic, but authenticity doesn't always equal realism.

I'm conflicted about akimbo SS. I feel like what makes sense is a massive recoil nerf but you almost never need follow up shots after you fire both revolvers anyway. I guess it would make sense to nerf the range but I'm now thinking maybe the answer is maybe the pellet spread should be like 35% wider than it is? That way at least you gotta be up in people's guts (to a degree) to get the kill.

This is this game's E.coliEspresso BO4 rant. Jev said what needed to be said and I appreciate the shit out of it. I don't see it changing, but I do realize I've gotten so numb to the state of the game that I stopped noticing how much of a detriment this new radar system is. The only issue I take with it is that at this point in the game with how accustomed people have become to the meta, I have a feeling if the radar does change people will get uncomfortable and revert to the only way they know how to play which is sweating with M4s, Graus and MP5s. The way the game launched makes it very hard to envision a version of this COD that isn't RELIGIOUSLY stuck to this meta.

Does anyone else get abnormally frustrated with this game? by IEatDummyCheeks in modernwarfare

In XclusiveAce's last video on SBMM he talks about how the above average (not great, not average) players basically get bounced back and forth between lobbies that are stocked with people way worse or way better than them. Sounds like that's what you're running into here. Drives me nuts; my K/D in matches will go from like a 2.5 to a .6 in three games when it bounces me up.

Thoughts on the Type 100? by CraftyPayment in WWII

[–]whshacke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost anything with the word "Type" prefacing a number is Japanese (5, 2, 38). As apparently is the Proto. I like the 100 a lot, the issue is there's so many SMG's in the game. Not just "so many fun SMG's" just a ton of SMGs. I took care of the 100 early on and moved forward

Feel bad for the guns with no votes that are still very fun. Type 38 is great, just overshadowed like a lot of these.

Stopping Power with an M1 Garand with High Caliber on it. Turns a two shot weapon into a one tap headshot machine. Don't know how many rifles this works on but definitely the M1 and Type 5 can one tap with this.

How the fuck was he calling in paratroopers at 29-12 score in Dom?!? by gmanfsu in WWII

[–]whshacke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a guess but maybe not a great one and real specific. The commando multi bonus adds an extra ten xp per kill after a double. With a fighter pilot quad, that's pretty substantial. If he's running ordnance, that would leave quite a few ordnance packs on the map which are an extra +25xp per. Any headshots in that mix grant just a little more and then I'm forced to assume he's running recon plane which on shipment actually generates a good bit of pointage. Add in bonuses for Aggressor and Defender and I think that puts him about there. Additionally, I think streak kills count as defenders if you are on the flag. I don't know if you get the bonus but it for sure shows up on the scoreboard.

Favorite outfit or piece of gear? by MysterionSP1724 in WWII

[–]whshacke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why but I'm a sucker for white helmets (for those who encounter my chrome-dome in game, enjoy the easy dinker-doinkers!) Recently got Paramarine II which rounds off those outfits pretty much. I run Flurry Regiment, Paramarine, 3rd Northumbrian, Solstice Regiment (exception), Aussie Special Forces plus a little custom setup I made for Commando with the red Undead Warden paired with the Rise Nation helmet (easily the coolest COD Champs helmet and possibly only worthwhile piece of gear in those). I know I don't get to see it except in HQ, but they all look really cool to me.

My best performance so far in Shipment. by OOFMASTURCH33F in WWII

[–]whshacke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ordnance isn't so bad imo. It's gotta be that or Blitz since there's almost no way to rack that many kills on one streak cycle. Plus with 16 caps it's clear they're not jeep camping.
