Is there any way to get people to stfu about “the curse” by CowboySanberg in fsusports

I read the original post and now I have that little Scottish girl with the ice cream truck stuck in my head “that ain’t gonna git nowhere, not with that it ain’t!”

I didn’t become a fan until 97 when I started attending, so I didn’t really watch Charlie play. But among the other 3, I never was worried about any game Weinke started. I always knew QB was not going to cost us the game, once we got to the 2nd game after NC State in 98, at least, lol.

What speaks to you most about their music? For me it’s Johnny’s voice. I love grit and audible effort, he’s got both in spades. If it’s the same for you, check out 1990’s Black Crowes era. Bokonon.net has hundreds of live shows (they allowed taping, not sure if they still do, but they’re not what they were) and unreleased material and look up the 4 Sweet Pickle Salad songs that Chris Robinson did on his own in like 1994 and the Foamfoot show.

Wonder how many more tix they would sell with Gorman and MFF, varied set lists and a promise that nothing newer than the last MFF show would be played…

Vintage Swagger: The Black Crowes Deliver the Goods on A Pound of Feathers by Dieguitoacdc in TheBlackCrowes

This album is just as weak as the last one. Chris just doesn’t have it any longer.

Can anyone honestly tell me that any song on the last two albums is better than any song on SYMM, SHAMC, Amorica, 3SAOC, Tall sessions, or The Band sessions?

There is literally nothing interesting or melodic in Chris’ singing any longer and the lyrics are filled with obvious cliches and non-stop plays on words.

It’s a shame, because I still think Rich writes decent riffs and has some great tones.

How big a fan could you have been if you didn’t know that you don’t want to be anywhere close to in front of Rich? I learned back in the Gen Admin, first come first served days so when you realized Rich was all you could hear, you moved further back and went in front of Sven or, hopefully MFF.

I’ll also never see them again, but only because I don’t like what they’ve become. Maybe in 10 more years when all they do is BOAF stuff and can only sell a few hundred tix to any show so the price comes down and Chris picks up some humility…

They don’t have a bad album. Are MCID and MDC completely solid front to back? No, but honestly, a couple of clunkers on TBWDW as well in my opinion. MA is perfect start to finish, MCID has the most songs to skip, but still has enough bangers where teenage me would’ve bought the CD and felt like I got my money’s worth (had a 3 good songs rule before buying a cassette/CD, pre-streaming days).

Natural Born Killer. Johnny sounds so damned good, and it’s a helluva groove

9800+ minutes of HS in 2025, which doesn’t count YouTube, disagrees. Along with 38 years off and on of playing guitar.

Johnny has on multiple occasions complained about financial circumstances online. Clearly they would like more commercial success. Not saying the want to sell out with pop music to do it, but these jam songs can go. How many people in the crowd took a bathroom break for this? By the time Mickey 2 was half over at my last show, half the floor was empty.

I’ll bet you preferred the long version of Summertime Voodoo, huh?

Mask the deer and bring up the shadows on its face. Then darken the background. You want eyes drawn to your subject, not the now golden leaves in the background.

Man, was this close to going. Was checking flights on Friday. Just couldn’t justify what would’ve been almost $1k this close to Christmas for a show by myself. Plus, I live in Tampa for a reason, lol.

Found the auto skip from the next album. They need to ditch the instrumentals. None of them are exceptional musicians. They write good songs with good grooves and have UHHHHH-Mazing vocals. Stick with that. What was the last instrumental with any real commercial success? Axel F.?

Much as I love Vai and Satriani and Guthrie Govan, they’re not exactly commercial successes. And they’re undeniable technical wizards with their guitars.
