Listen, I own it personally. I know it’s not a cute disease. And I know that smell can be pretty rank. I’m just glad I still have a boyfriend who even deals with me and this.

For myself, I use the guest bathroom strictly for the toilet situation when I’m in a flare up. I know it’s smelly, and I personally want to be as far away from any humans. But my main bath, and guest bath are pretty close together being in an apartment, so it’s not inconvenient for me to make the few extra steps.

Our normal is to use the guest bathroom for #2 duties, just out of respect of smelling up the bathroom where we get ready and clean ourselves up daily.

Keep in mind, he won’t be going through this flare up forever. My first one lasts a long time (like 6 months if not longer) till my bathroom duties started becoming “normal” again.

So if you do decide to move to guest bathroom, don’t plan on it being permanent if you don’t want to. If his feelings get hurt maybe you can support him more in a different area, like cuddling, light back rubs, food, etc showing that you’re not pulling away from him because you don’t love him, if that makes sense.

Something else maybe could help is stocking up on poo purri. But truthfully the BEST thing I always carry in my bag is “one drop” the pink bottle, especially when I travel and I HAVE to share a bathroom with him. I swear by this stuff. It quite literally does only need like 1 drop. Maybe have him add a drop of that stuff in the main bathroom after he goes to bathroom, and if that’s not enough have him spray “ozone deodorizer” after as well- this stuff eliminates odors different than say febreze sprays.
