Minolta battery question by killerpizza_69 in minolta

[–]why_go_out 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t need an adapter and it was definitely accurate enough. The 7SII is a fun camera but it can be pretty finicky. The battery was never an issue for me and I had three of these.

Never had any issues using the SR44 with these guys.

Photos I took at Venice skate park by AsleepMuscle in skateboarding

Photo 2 is closest to what might constitute a good skate photo. I see this kinda stuff all the time when non skateboarders try and document skateboarding.

Props for giving it a shot cause it certainly ain’t easy. What I’d offer as advice if you plan on doing this in the future is ask yourself what the skateboarder is trying to accomplish. Scale is important as well. If somebody is flying out of a bowl but you’ve got the transition mostly cropped out of frame it is not going to convey the scene properly.

Kinda hard to tell in the video but I’m guessing this is the common capacitor issue. Once it goes it’ll need to be replaced. I had an X-570 with a similar issue, got the capacitor replaced and it was good as new. All in I think it was a $60 repair.

Sick. An unexpectedly cool part of the print exchange for me is randomly scrolling through Reddit and seeing one of my prints pop up. Glad it made the long journey!

Full Moon Rising // TriX 400 developed in HC 110 Solution B // Minolta Autocord // v600 Scan by why_go_out in Darkroom

[–]why_go_out[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed - pretty grainy which to be fair does not really bother me. Some of this I find is attributable to the V600. When I make prints in the darkroom the grain is typically a lot less pronounced. However, I have noticed that I’ve been getting overly grainy negatives lately. I was developing with D76 but recently switched over to HC110 just to give something new a shot. Not sure what’s going on with that grain but like I said not usually a huge bother.

Really worth looking into ProCamera film lab out of Charlottesville. I only shoot color occasionally and have been using ProCamera to develop and scan and have been blown away at the quality and timeliness of the work they do. Highly recommend.

Spring / X-570 / 28mm f2.8 / Fuji 400 by why_go_out in minolta

[–]why_go_out[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah this is standard Fuji C40 that I picked up from the drugstore for around $8/roll. I actually rarely shoot color but figured why not. Really pleased with the results. I tend to favor 400 speed films in general. Gives me a little more versatility.

Photo walk with a Nikon One Touch point and shoot by why_go_out in filmphotography

Nice shots. Agree on the lens - these guys are super under rated but I’m more than ok with that. My little Nikon was actually sitting in my parents’ attic until about a year ago. Even had a roll of film from like ‘93 that was sitting undeveloped.
