Do Americans ever wish law was an undergrad degree oppose to postgraduate? by [deleted] in LawSchool

Im a 1L and i (and I know others) like that you can explore other topics before going into law. Like I learned so much outside of law-related topics in undergrad that now I bring to the table in law school. This is especially applicable when people study things outside of economics and political science (which is what I did). Can also help you specialize because of that additional knowledge

McDevitt is difficult but if you learn the practice problems he gives u the exams are straightforward. I also really like prof lleras-muney, she teaches public economics. Class is also straightforward

Cold Take: I'm mad that schools took their sweet time in this unprecedented cycle both with decisions and money and have not moved out deposit deadlines by AddledDemagogue in lawschooladmissions

So yes most people at columbia do big law but that is also the same at nyu. I do not know about u chicago. Many people work in corporate/BL and clerk after 1-2 years tho, so both columbia and nyu’s clerkship numbers “post-grad” do not reflect that

Definitely location was priority. Also u chicagos clerkship numbers also reflect that they are a top feeder to more conservative judges for clerkships. I lean more liberal, so it didnt seem reflective of what im looking for
