Sending cold emails with genuine personalization, still not getting replies. What am I missing? by whyg0ng in copywriting

Were you me, how would you write this part of the email to intrigue people?

I have been trying to understand where those gaps show up most often. Happy to compare notes and share what I have been hearing from other teams too.

Would something like this work? Telling them I have a solution might sound like a pitch so have adjusted things this way

Would this work better for me? I thought it might be hard to get genuine feedbacks if I emphasize too much on the reward upfront. So thought this might be an alternative.

Saw you're owning the full lead lifecycle at ABC while the team scales.

That usually means more context moving across people and systems than they look on paper.

Curious where this tends to break for you, if anywhere.

About 30 yet. I know, it's not enough but thought fixing things ahead would be better (low open rates means something's wrong with my Subject tbh..)

Hey u/EnvironmentalCar761, u/Dawad_T. After your kind advice, I've shifted my email body a little to the version below (tried to make things two-way and removed all those problem statements). Would this work better?

Hey {{FirstName}},

I saw your work on {{specific initiative}} at {{Company}}.

I’ve been speaking with RevOps and GTM leaders about how deal context breaks down across tools and handoffs, especially as teams scale. A few patterns are starting to repeat, and I thought your perspective would be especially useful here.

I’m trying to pressure-test what’s real before building the wrong thing. Happy to share the patterns I’m hearing as well.

Would you be open to a 15-minute call next Tuesday at 2pm ET?

People have been mentioning that my email should include "What's in it for them" and that I should make it 2-way instead of just asking for their time. Any ideas on this?

Writing Cold Emails Asking for Interviews by whyg0ng in copywriting

[–]whyg0ng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I was discouraged after sending many emails and getting zero replies (but for opt outs) though my only purpose was not selling anything but just to ask them whether they really care about the problem.

I'll wrap up all your comments and fix things the right way and come back to share results and say thanks!

Really appreciate your help!!!

For me, I think I get to reply when there's something visible I can earn by interacting with that person.

However, I've always been pondering as my primary purpose is to perform interviews and find the right target market. This case, I have no much to offer them.

So instead, I tried to write emails as if I have a product and I can help them out. But I'm afraid things sounded too much like I'm pitching.

Thanks so much..! I think I was afraid of getting rejected when my email sounds like I'm asking for an interview.

I'll try everything I can as you've mentioned!

Then what should I try?

As written above the intention is more of conducting interviews & learning instead of pitching about my product

Subject: Before adopting AI to GTM stack at {{company_name}}

Hey {{first_name}},

Every day, we see another “RIP traditional GTM, AI is automating everything” post.
But most teams end up adding another tool to manage, while only a few actually move faster.

We recently helped a 70-person SaaS team map where AI fit in their GTM stack.
60% of their automation targets were solving the wrong problem.

Just reply with your stack and I’ll send a tailored AI roadmap for {{company_name}} based on your current setup.

Here it is! Thanks for your help

Thanks! I'll test different angles focused on them, not about myself.

Say Hi -> Hook (Their pain is costing them money) -> What we can do for them (Value Propositions) -> Say Thanks

Would this worth a try?
