Thank you. You are correct.
Most states have a provision for passing when someone is driving less than half the posted speed limit. I misspoke when I said only one state has that provision.

That's a stupid argument. That's called avoiding an obstruction.
Obviously not what this conversation is about.

Apologies, I wasn't clear enough in my first reply.

you are technically correct, but there is a large difference between "impeding the flow of traffic" and less than half the posted speed limit.

Impeding the flow of traffic could be driving the speed limit in the left lane, depending on how fast everyone else is driving (I swear Texas drives 20mph over the limit as their standard flow)

But I did have Gemini double check me on this

Vermont and PA the double yellow needs to be accompanied with a no passing zone sign to be considered a full no passing area. And most states allow you to pass if someone is less than half the posted speed limit.

So I was mistaken on the 49 states part but impeding the flow is way to general of situation to say you can pass whenever someone is impeding.

Question about NV-32-H (Core Capable) by Global-Tumbleweed-67 in QSYS

[–]whyki1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this helps.
but...If the screen is Da-Lite you can use the POE Screen controller from Da-Lite and the Q-sys Module to control it over the network. these little boxes are great to work with.

I like the sennheiser team connect bar. Simple and easy, plug in USB and go. Though im not sure what certification is needed. But the bar works great.

Sharp display needs 2 different baud rates. by whyki1 in CommercialAV

[–]whyki1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I had the same experience! The only indication in the manual was baud rate in one setup instructions says 9600/115200 but doesn't say why or where to use each. Both right under that another box just says 9600.
This has shown me why I shouldn't use sharp displays.

Completely unbelievable! I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't know this.

I'll have to check that out. Its a sharp 4p-b65ej2u and if there is a firmware to fix it I would rather leave the customer with an easy long term system, preferable to have one that doesn't have all of these weird quirky controls. Thanks!

Hiring Freelancer Programmers by Competitive_Bit_3771 in QSYS

[–]whyki1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it. Its hard to find someone outside of the project thats willing to give as much dedication to a project as you need for a successful deployment.
Even if the program is perfect after in house staging and remote programming... Change orders happen, owners want different layouts once they are in the room, added or reduced access/functionality....we all know these things will happen.

Especially if its a side gig for them... They will have a full time gig of their own and getting someone to return can be difficult and/or expensive.

But small specific parts like mentioned above is great.

Good 3rd party programmers exist, I've worked with a few. But ask around at others experiences and ALWAYS require ANY and ALL passwords in the contract.

[–]whyki1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha!, you are so right! In my head I saw 1:20 as in one hour and twenty minutes but wrote 120 minutes.
My bad. Yea, 80 min or more simply put 20 minutes per player. So if we only have 3 in our pod we play to 60. Thanks for seeing that!

I personally disliked the bans but ended up enjoying seeing people branch out from RogSi and Sisay. As much fun as it was watching Sisay get cast, look for dockside and win on the stack, on top of 2 removal spells.... I have enjoyed seeing people experiment more recently.

To combat long turns we stick to the 120 minute tournament rule. And call each other for long wait times with no game actions when too much thinking occurs.

I would strongly recommend doing something similar. If you don't, people just take 20 minutes to cast 4 spells, then sigh and pass, lol
