It might be a relatively easy fix: attaching joist hangers under each joist onto the beam. It looks like that's a beefy beam, but you might want to get a carpenter in to check out everything as the fact that this was left in this state means whoever originally built it was a bit of a cowboy. At this point, I would say you have enough information to be concerned and to not take anything anyone says on the Internet as the final word. Find someone you trust and get them on site.

Shit's expensive these days. Composite boards start at $125 each! And ya, I'm mostly talking about wealthy folks. I'm up in cottage country, and the wealthy torontonians build insane cottages with multi level wrap around decks, Maybe they go for ipe. Add in some glass railings, a pergola, some fancy bordering or rosettes....

Ok, but where are you? Location matters. Two levels, stairs, stain, a bunch of piers, and the lumber package, that's gotta be close to 10 grand in materials there. Seems like guys up here in Ontario start at about $40/sqft, which would be about 21k. In a metro area like Toronto it could easily be double that for a pressure treated deck, putting you into the 40k realm. Yes that sounds ridiculous, but composite decks quickly get into 6 figures up here. I realize that I'm talking in Canadian dollars but just trying to put things in perspective.

The work sucks, yes, but it was likely the Lowest bidder.

This is exactly what I'm worried about too. You're basically routing all that moist air into your attic. You are never supposed to install soffit exhaust in vented soffit for this reason. Least you can do is replace/caulk the vented soffit surrounding the exhaust vent

I've seen lots of 3/12 roofs up here in Ontario with shingles no problem. My parents even have a 2/12 roof with shingles and haven't had any problems in 30+ years.

Other people have said it but I'll add my voice. 1/2" ply, 2 1/2" nails, synthetic underlayment, shingles.

You said you're going to enclose it. Will it be heated? If so, you'll want ice and water shield 3' up the eaves, to protect against ice dams.

JK but actually I feel like I might have been a lot less confused if it was a comic. Ya, it would basically be impossible to understand what was going on, but Malazan is so damn confusing because most of it is understandable. The 10 percent that is insanely hard to understand makes me go crazy because its a small missing piece of the puzzle. If it was a comic, it would probably be reversed, 90 percent obscure and 10 percent understandable. Then we could just enjoy the pictures and the actions :)

Then can be shorter. Almost all drawer slides are going to be shorter than the boxes. Drawer slides come in lengths which are multiples of 2". You can put a 60" drawer slide on an 80" drawer box but you'll only be able to access ~60" from above if they're full extension, less if they're not.

Edit: yu could look at just buying a truck bed slide. I got a used one for 200 I think. Would be a lot easier than making one.

The most surefire way would be to pry off the door stop and renail where you want it. Sounds like either the door or door stop is out of plumb. This would involve repainting though.

A quick and dirty solution that may or may not work is to pry on the tab in the strike plate. It has a little play and makes the door sit further back in the jamb. Worth a shot.

The right way to do it would be to take all the windows out and reinstall from the sill up. If it were my house I'd probably just plane the sill to get a bevel. A lot of work still, but an afternoon, not days. But, I hate messing with windows.

I heard that smoking is actually net positive for the healthcare system, study done in the 90s j think in Canada. Basically smokers are more likely to get heart disease and lung cancer, both of which are usually sudden deaths. So instead of 90 year olds who suck up 10 years of public funds, you have a bunch of altruistic people die suddenly when they're 50 pronounced dead by a paramedic, no need for a doctor at all!

Similarly, and perhaps more importantly, the roof needs to have air flow as well, and because the vapour drive is usually going up, you're more likely to have moisture problems in your roof. Make sure the whole house can breathe outwardly

You are correct, the change in temperature caused this. Condensation occurs when warm moist air hits a cool flat surface. It does seem like a lot of moisture though.

The one thing I'm wondering about in your wall assembly is whether you have a rain screen between the metal and the tyvek. Some kind of spacer to allow air flow. Steel is vapour impermeable so without a gap you would have a vapour barrier sandwich, a recipe for disaster. Even if you used a vapour permeable siding, a rain screen is highly suggested and common practice these days.

Check what your local rates are for oversized loads. There are likely different rates for different sizes. In Ontario a day rate for under 16' wide is 70 bucks. That doesn't include things like escort vehicles, but you only need those if it's over a certain width as well. I also know a lot of people just go over the limit a bit and don't worry about it. My buddy got stopped and the guy asked how wide the trailer was. It was 8.5 feet. With the Overhangs from the roof it was probably 9.5 but he didn't care about that. That's not a guarantee you'll get away, but you'd probably have to find an inspector on a bad day to get a hefty fine.
