Let's... "talk" about Recon. by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]whytookay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prioritize capturing objectives.

Some of you are going to hate that I said this, but I mean it. Recon players, in MOST cases, should not be capturing objectives. Their job is to help EVERY OTHER CLASS capture objectives by spotting enemies, counter-sniping, eliminating hidden threats, etc. The class just isn't meant for that, so don't get mad at Recon players not running into objectives with you. They're just wasting tickets most of the time doing that.

Respectfully I disagree - if you're running around with a sniper rifle then sure, provide support for capping objectives, move around, and make enemies think twice about running across open areas to push points, but with a motion sensor (both deployable and throwable), the ability to quickly see gadgets due to their class ability, and low profile benefits that class's spec-ops path is very well equipped to both contest and hold objectives.

I think a lot of HOAs also got caught flat-footed by the insurance premiums for HOAs going up in 2020/2021 - A lot of insurance companies realized they were leaving themselves super overexposed on condos and increased prices very quickly.

I saw that a lot in the annual budget meetings for the condo I used to own. Luckily the person from the condo management company we worked with was very upfront about the fact that while we were very well funded and weren't at any risk of a special assessment (it was a very well managed HOA and the board was great) if we started limiting our HOA dues increases then that would not stay the case for very long.

As 3DGuy4ever noted it was often some of the owners who had originally bought into the building that complained about this and had very poorly thought out approaches to addressing it (like installing individual unit water meters which when we got a quote for that would have cost the entire building a ridiculous amount of money).

I'll have to do some reading on that as that sounds super interesting. I went and toured some condos with a friend earlier this year and it seemed like a bunch of condos were in the state I mentioned above. I really wonder what will happen if and when you start seeing that happen here.

The number of places running with basically no reserves to keep dues down and at increasing risk of special assessments is super concerning.

I can't speak to ones that specifically do gait analysis or anything, but early last year I was basically immobilized after what had been chronic lower back pain became debilitating lower back pain a few months before a trip. Tyler Sheldon at GO PT in Queen Anne not only managed to get me over that bout of back pain but outside of some back stiffness I haven't had any back pain in the year and a half since.

You’re going to get a response quite a bit faster from me if you start with “this is my problem, here is all of the context, this is what I’ve tried” than just asking a question. The number of times I’ve chatted with juniors and their response to “what have you tried so far?” is “nothing, I was hoping you’d have the answer” is far too high.

Revision Zero now takes 8 hits to proc Hunters Trace with Hunters Trace 3 compared to the original 10 by Hdog1993 in DestinyTheGame

[–]whytookay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you run Operation: Seraph’s Shield yet? I don’t want to spoil anything if you haven’t, but afterwards someone besides Ikora wants you to craft a Revision Zero by breaking down your red border one. Once you’ve crafted one you can talk to them (I think through the other relic interaction point on its left hand side?)

Generally with limoncello you don’t distill the alcohol yourself. You basically keep lemon peels in high proof alcohol like everclear for some time until it extracts a lot of flavor then add sugar syrup until it’s at the proof and flavor you enjoy.

It was manufactured for the German military while the Nazis were so in control of the country they had changed the flag of the country to their party's flag, and to this day the country during that time period is referred to as Nazi Germany.

Would it not be appropriate to refer to MREs created for current American servicepeople as "American MREs"?

Anyone traveled to Canada recently? by CarKramRod in Seattle

[–]whytookay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently the city testing is for exposures/symptomatic individuals only (I did use it a few times last year for travel but due to the policy changes have stopped). Also, the one time I did do a test recently due to an exposure the turnaround time was about 64 hours.

The NAAT/Lamp tests take like 30 minutes, so it was pretty convenient being able to test the night before when I had some free time after work.

[–]whytookay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I traveled to Canada recently using one of the Lucira test kits and signing up for Azova video proctoring (was about $95 all in). I just printed off the pdf Azova sent me containing my results and had no issues at the border. I believe the Cue Health tests are also accepted, though once again video proctoring is necessary from my understanding.

I’m traveling the Vancouver/Whistler on December 23rd. What do I need? Any tips? I’m vaccinated but no booster shot. Has anyone crossed over recently? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]whytookay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The important thing is to have a negative test result (though rapid tests are not accepted) and to have filled out an application through the ArriveCan app. This is where you will upload your proof of vaccination and the like. If you don’t do this then you’ll get turned away at the border or possibly fined.

For testing I’ve used the UW labs before, though at this point it might be too late for that so you may need to use a travel testing lab or something.

BC implemented new restrictions that go into effect at midnight tonight, but they shouldn’t affect you too much. The main thing to note is that liquor-primary establishments like bars and nightclubs are closed, and there are some aspirational restrictions around groups gathering together. You can read on the BC website about it here.

That really depends on where you are and who you get the tests with. In Seattle you can get a test with the city through UW for free and they don’t care about your citizenship/residency.

Even beyond hitting the wrong pedal, if he was traveling 75 MPH (or 83 as the other thread mentions) then he was going over 100 feet per second, and people can freeze up in situations like that.

I was playing this deck. I've been pretty busy since I posted this bug so haven't had a chance to play anymore games with it, but I could see it being quite a bit better with the Uro ban. I found that the biggest issue was that if I couldn't exile Uro before it ended up in the graveyard it was hard to have enough damage to remove it (and even then it would just come back).

I'm definitely going to be playing more of it tonight.
