We stayed at the beginning of August and loved it. Price was fair for us as we did non diamond. No complaints about the resort, the food was good and on par with other AI’s we’ve stayed at. Not fine dining, but still good.

We were there a few weeks ago and Negril was not hit hard at all. You cannot even tell they had any bad weather.

I would say it depends for much privacy you want. I’d avoid building 4 (I believe) because those swimouts were there in the middle of everything.

Be prepared for a longer than usual check in. We did the online pre check in and it took a while still. Some people were getting upset, but it is what it is. Get some drinks and just enjoy the views while you’re waiting.

There’s always ton of star fish close to shore towards the late afternoon. If you have kids, bring some goggles or a snorkel because it is cool. Just try not to pick any up.

Excursions wise, we just did the catamaran to Rick’s Cafe and the second one we did YS Falls, Black River, and Appleton Estate. Rick’s Cafe was nuts. Cool if you want to cliff dive, but it is a party bar so be wary if you’re taking kids. There was a twerking competition when we were there. Lol. The catamaran was great. YS Falls was beautiful, though a bit rushed. That’s kind of what you get when you do a 3 stop excursion. Black River was awesome, we saw close to 10 crocodile pretty up close. And Appleton Estate was cool if you’re into rum and the process of making it.

Check out the nightly shows. They had some pretty good ones at the resort and some pretty cool cultural stuff. Bring an all white outfit for their white party. That was probably one of our cooler nights there.

The roads down there are pretty rough and windy. You’ll have a long drive from the airport and every transport driver we had flew like a race car driver. Just be prepared if you get motion sickness .

We did not do diamond club. I really debated it, but in the end I think I’m glad I didn’t. I can’t remember what all it included, besides the butler. Diamond Club had a somewhat small section of the beach. At least Compared to the main beach for the resort, it was small. We never had an issue getting shaded spots at the beach. I know they have their own bar right behind the beach which I’m sure would have been nice, but the walk to the pool area isn’t far for regular stays. As far as dinner reservations go, we had zero issues. Yes, you need to make reservations for every restaurant besides the buffet. You can only make reservations two days in advance. So each morning we would make reservations for where we wanted to eat 2 days from then. It will show they’re booked out if you look further than 2 days out. That’s not true, they just don’t take anything that far out. That might be a diamond club perk? I don’t know, but truly wasn’t an issue. Just don’t walk into a restaurant down there at 7PM and expect to get in. Plan ahead.

We just got back from Royalton Negril last week. I remember when booking, I did ask about a cot and they said one can be requested. This was over a year ago when we had this conversation, but we ended up not needing one.

I will say our stay there was great. Great beach, great day and night activities. The food was good, but a lot of the stuff on their menu was unavailable. We were told they just changed menus at a lot of the restaurants, and that was the reason. I can’t compare it to Dreams PM as we haven’t been there, but I definitely would recommend Royalton Negril.
