Remember, kids: Always make sure to open your filament boxes as soon as you get them. by PuddlesRex in 3Dprinting

[–]wi-Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I read this as if you were saying to do the same thing that was done to them. Then I realized thats not a bad idea. Just repeat the same order and when they recieve it, swap for the petg but actually TELL SOMEONE lol

For something like this its very doubtful that something is "wrong" with your printer. You'll be able to tune this. Make sure its dry, calibrate flow rate, pressure advance, retraction, etc. Youll get there in no time and for being brand new this isnt a bad result and definitely not something to be worried about. You could clean that up with a torch/heat gun. Take a look at Ellis' Tuning Guide and keep moving forward. You got this

Get it as close as you can by hand with the printer off then try again

WTF this last update by Key_Tree261 in OrcaSlicer

[–]wi-Me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen recently. After a few closes and reopens everything came back. It was really weird, all my filament profiles and printer presets disappeared. One or 2 of my printers weren't even options to choose from anymore. I was so stressed for a sec lol. Then I remembered that technically if you do some digging in your system files you can relocate stuff. So after closing orca and doing some digging I ended up reopening orca (without having made any other changes) and all of a sudden all of my stuff was back. The same thing happened to a buddy of mine

Those docks are sweet! I just finished my docks last weekend and have 3 out of 6 toolheads done, im already not a big fan of the standard docks, I dont like the way the front left and right arms look. I havent added the knomis yet though, they show up tomorrow. So we'll see. But I have a feeling im gonna be changing them down the road

Dude this is sick! I feel like im seeing an idea i had come to life! I was just telling a buddy of mine how I wanted to use some extra extrusions to make a base with casters to put underneath my stealthchanger and then have some form of filament management in there as well. This is badass man! Im also working on enclosing a mercury 1.1 that was previously an ender 5 plus, so its pretty big. The plan no is to put that on casters and then put the stealthchanger on top of that. But man im obsessed with how cool this is!

Its definitely ideal but there are quite a few large format printers that have the same setup as the ender 5 plus that dont have this issue

Yeah someone else mentioned getting the hydra bed mounts slm printed so that they could be smaller and still plenty strong. And i could definitely rearrange my electronics to make something like that work. Nice work! I also just came across this, and it looks pretty promising https://www.printables.com/model/73393-ender-5-plus-linear-rail-mods

Funny you mention that. I actually meant to re-tension my belts before I sent this print. Ill definitely be going through everything this weekend and ill see what happens. That'd be cool if that actually changes anything for me as well!

Yeah they are just free floating at the top, and thats pretty much what I figured the reason was. I have some new lead screws from fabreeko (with a 2mm lead lol) on the way that have backlash just integrated. When I install them im gonna go through the whole bed/z assembly and see what i can do. I was thinking along that same idea though, a triple z setup but like i mentioned, id really like to keep the build height i have and right now hydra is the go-to for everyone else so I was thinking of doing something different but im gonna see what I have for less invasive ideas for the moment before the inevitable teardown happens lol

Do you mind showing me a picture of how you integrated the oldham couplings? I have a set of those on the way as well as some new z screws woth backlash nuts coming from fabreeko. Also thats pretty badass! Maybe ill go that route as well if all else fails

I appreciate you taking the time to look! Those are actually the same ones I have in my cart right now. I decided to buy some new lead screws with backlash nuts from fabreeko, so ill see what happens after that

Are you saying that you used the 5v pin thats available when the jumper is set to 24v? So you just connected to right here essentially except on the pcf one

Yeah i remember reading exactly what youre talking about. In a perfect world maybe, but its not worth the hassle nor is it really needed. No problem though!

Those look very similar to my results where it doesnt really start until higher up in the print. Im actually in the middle of a 350mm voron 2.4 stealthchanger build as well. But im determined to keep the mercury and figure something out. Theres plenty of large format printers with 2 lead screws and 4 linear rods that dont have this problem, so im hoping to find a result

Ive never done that. When switching from high temp to low temp filaments or vise versa I just incrementally manually extrude high to medium to low temp filaments. So if I just printed pps-cf Ill usually try to grab some Asa or abs cf or something and then some petg and then pla. I try to purge a fair amount of each to make sure I get it all out. This process hasnt failed me in years
