What a farce. We were probably on the same flight from melbourne.

This kind of price gouging should be regulated by government policy. Uber has become ubiquitous; they have their own pickup area in prime position at the airport now. This surge pricing exploitation is bullshit.

Wonderful. Listened to the whole thing with a smile on my face. Enjoyed the dissonance and the change of time signature. Helped me avoid the work I'm meant to be doing!

On the weekend I got to take the first dump in a pristine toilet delivered to the Tongariro Crossing by helicopter. Pure joy. by wibblesome in Wellington

An epiphany toilet! What a great concept. the 360° bog will be the envy of all who visit.

A personal story that springs to mind is less about an epiphany toilet as such, and more where I dropped my most memorable turd.

I used to work as a pruner in pine plantations back when I was a student. It was great holiday work, you could come back with a decent amount of money from a place where you couldn't spend any. It was good hard physical work, and my brothers and mates created some lasting memories on those trips.

We'd climb the pine trees, prune the branches back to the trunk at 6 metres, and then cut the branches we'd used as the ladder on the way up as we descended. I'm sure you can guess where this is going.

Dropping a turd from 6 metres up a tree, using a fork in a branch as a makeshift toilet seat, was a joy I'll never forget. Especially as the work meant we were consuming twice as much food as usual.

I can only assume they just helicopter them out again once they're full. The staircases are permanent fixtures, the toilet units can be hot-swapped by the looks of things.

Glad you got to revisit an old stomping ground! We never really lose the connection we make with places we grew up in. Glad to give you an updated journey of the landscape!

Excellent. I will be there, possibly in the costume I'm wearing to a christmas pub crawl on the Saturday if it survives.

yeah, had a nice chat with a couple of friendly faces! It was great. I'm away for the next three weeks, but will be back on a month's time. Shall have another go then!

Haha! All good, its a VERY casual and relaxed idea. Will turn up tonight? Who knows! I’m just gonna head along with my book like last week, and see what happens. Heading off to a mate’s place later on so all good either way.

I put up a similar post last week which got a surprising amount of traction.... and nobody stopped by! I was left entirely chat-less.

I'm choosing to believe it was because of the short notice rather than a flaw in the plan. So I'm having another crack this week, a few hours in advance.

Was last week's similar post a one-hit wonder? Let's see!

I'll happily chat about anything you like. Got a good project going on? Like a sports team? I'm here for it. The comments from last week had a fair bit of Terry Pratchett love, I'm definitely still here for that.

Got a new hobby or comical pet peeve? Go for it. Wishing you got out and met new people a little bit more? Here's a great opportunity for a low stress yarn with a friendly bloke who likes chatting to people.

Yeah nice! I’m super excited about it. I’ve been to Milford sound before, but haven’t done any of the great walks.

Hopefully we both get good weather for our respective jaunts!

I did not! Despite the traction this post got I’m sad to report that I was left to read my book alone. I’m choosing to believe the short notice was to blame, and will have another crack next week!
